My Favorite Bib Shorts
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Weight:
- null
Like other reviewers have mentioned, these run small so size up. They will still be tight when you go up one size because bib shorts are supposed to be tight. If you want them to fit looser go up two or three sizes. I have several pairs of these and they are quite durable. I got hit by a car while riding a couple months ago and they didn’t tear when I skidded across the road even though I had road rash underneath. These are my go-to bibs and I will keep buying them as long as Castelli makes them.

Will become a long distance favorite
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:

After a couple break in trainer ride I can tell these bibs will be a go to over the summer season. Typical excellent Castelli quality, really the best of their chamois, and very comfortable straps and grippers. Oddly, I did have the need to stretch them out over the course of a few ride to get them comfortable over the shoulders as I have had to do with other Castelli bibs. I'm 5'7, 160# and the mediums fit great

Nice Shorts, mis-sized
- Familiarity:

The worst thing about these shorts is uncertainty over sizing. I am 5'6" and 132 lbs with a 29 inch waist. Based on others reviews, I sized up to Medium despite the sizing table saying I should be a Small (this is what i use for PI and most other brands). Felt snug and a bit short in the top/long in the leg at first try-on. After 5 mins on the bike, it was a perfect fit though! Great chamois and comfy fabric. Recommended if you can get over the mis-sizing!

Good choice for first bib shorts
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times

I had not tried bib shorts before but had been riding on Castelli Endurance 3 shorts which worked great. After I rode with the Endurance 3 Bib Shorts I immediately ordered another pair. I like to ride 3-5 hours most days and these are comfortable between me and my Selle Italia saddle. These are my first bibs and I am very pleased with the fit and comfort. My philosophy is: tight=good, friction=bad, blue>black. I have noted other comments that these run small. i have a 31" waist but M feels fine. I am absolutely satisfied!

Run small and then some
Overall I like the bibs and want to like them more. Fit as many say is small vs other brands (Mille, Pearl) I wear. I am 5’11’ and 195 , I own a pair in XL and they dont have much room to spare.

Small everywhere bu the thighs
- Familiarity:

I bought these as I heard good things about the chamois. Ordered the L size. Tried them on once and were small everywhere except the thighs. The leg openings were about an inch too big to the point the silicone grippers didn't make any contact with my legs. They were literally baggy at the bottom. I would've considered going to the XL size but I'd be afraid that the leg openings would be huge. I don't think my legs are extremely small either. I guess I'll stick with my PI Pro bibs.

Runs very small, poor quality
- Familiarity:

- Large

I've been a Castelli fan for many years and own several shorts and bib shorts. Lately their sizing has gotten smaller than it used to be. I normally wear a Med in an American brand so have ordered Large for Castelli and it fits fine. Lately the Large is very tight. Much tighter than it used to be. I've also had issues with the threaded seams coming undone on the last 3 shorts/ bib shorts I have purchased. This happens after only a dozen or so rides. I'm done buying the Castelli brand.

Superb bibs
- Familiarity:

Castelli never disappoints. However, sizing can run a bit on the snug side. I'm 5'10" and weigh 157 pounds but have big thighs. A large is just right but takes a bit of finesse to put on. Rolling the leg grippers inside out when putting the shorts on and then rolling them down eases stress on the fabric. Once they're on they fit perfectly. The chamois is super comfortable and the overall quality of construction is great. Highly recommended!

I know that bibs are supposed to fit tight but these were so tight/stretched when I put them on that they were nearly see through in some areas. They run small, even for Castelli.

The quality and fit I've come to expect
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The Castelli Progetto X-2 air chamois with a race fit has become my go-to, so I expected to be happy with these. I was not disappointed - they fit like a glove, the materials are quality, and the dark (Saville) blue was a nice little change-up from my usual black. I haven't ridden these yet, but I don't need to - the first try-on told me all I need to know. For me, the fit was spot-on. XL is my default for Castelli gear, and this hit right on the head. If you're looking for relaxed fits, Castelli is not your brand. These are meant to be snug, and fit best when actually in riding position. Although I wear a "L" in casual clothes, I gave this a "true to size" as it's right on for Castelli - fully consistent with all the other pieces I have.
