Why We Like The Candide C1 Jacket
The Candide C1 Jacket is made for powder days in the park, stomping side hits and throwing big airs. The ergonomic design offers plenty of room to comfortably twist and flip, and the longer hem length keeps snow out when we end up taking a seat off a rail. It's packed with cozy Primaloft insulation and offers incredible waterproofing, so we can stay warm and dry in the midst of heavy-hitting winter storms. The fitted hood and wrist gaiters keep the jacket in place no matter how many times we hit the send button off steep cliffs or massive jumps, keeping us protected from the elements from the first lift through the final descent.

I love a lot of things about this jacket. Love all of the pockets and zippers. Love the thumb hole. Warm. etc. However, there is one thing that has caused me issues. The main zipper started to rip after only 2 uses. I didn't crash and I wasn't extremely hard on it...the threads just started coming undone (see image). You can see the insulation inside the jacket, and it's becoming hard to zip up. Since then it's only grown larger. Here is what really bothers me. I couldn't return it to Backcountry because it was over 30 days, so they wouldn't help me at all. I was directed to contact Candide about it. So, I contacted Candide about the warranty and didn't get a reply for over a week and a half. Finally when they responded, they said they were happy to repair the jacket, but the repair requires me to ship it to them to get it repaired. The shipping cost to send it to them is NOT covered, so I would have to pay that myself (may an additional $40 or so). Also, they are telling me it will take at least 20 days to repair after they have received it...I asked if they would let me take it to someone locally so I could skip the wait and skip paying the shipping costs...they said no. :( Super annoyed. Again, the jacket is great and has a lot really great features...just really annoyed that it started to come undone at the zipper and I have to pay MORE just to get their poor manufacturing fixed. :( Sad about that.

It took 15 jackets to find this one.

I tried 15 jackets before finding this one. Everything either was ill fitting, poorly designed for snowboarding, annoying, over wrought, stupid, or ugly. It's a black jacket, how hard can it be? Really hard. Whatever Candide did to contribute to the design worked. I love the jacket. I don't knwo if I'm tripping but I really believe Candide helped with this just b/c the thing works so well. I'm always between L & XL, but I got the L and its perfect... so maybe it runs a little big, but again I want to layer under it which I do.
