Step up your aprés-ski game with the Canada Goose Men's Langford Down Parka. Designed and built for the coldest ski towns and blustery big cities, this seriously warm jacket is stuffed full of a light and insulating 650-fill down that is protected by a water-resistant Arctic Shell to repel snow flurries, light rain, and sleet. For added warmth, the Langford is equipped with an insulating hood with real coyote fur trim that can easily removed when you want a more subdued look. Fleece-lined hand pockets give your digits a cozy place to stay warm as you walk around town, and the heavy-duty YKK front zipper with front placard ensures those bitingly cold winter winds don't get through this jacket.

    Backcountry: amazing services!!

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Medium

I have never written any review for any website. But backcountry's customer services is truly amazing. My issue was the billing address doesn't match my credit card. It turned out that address is for my checking account. Backcountry replied to me with respect and understanding that the authorization code is absolutely required for my case. I contact my bank many times till the last time they gave me the authorization code. (Turns out they did not know it until I urge them to check.) I finally gave my authorization code to Backcountry. And my package was shipped in an hour!!! Unfortunately, I had to exchange it with a smaller size. Guess what, not only they approve the request, Backcountry shipped my second package within one hour on a Saturday!!!! I am so touched really appreciate everyone who helped me in the process. Thank you sooo much!! I will definitely buy more from Backcountry in the future!!!

    What a jacket!

    Bought this for my husband:

Fantastically warm jacket that kept me from freezing to death when I had to go to NYC in January.

    Not worth $925

Opened my package and the entire jacket is covered in hair. I understand there is coyote fur on it but the hair was everywhere and I just don’t think it should be that way. Tried to zip up the jacket and the double zipper situation is so annoying and takes concentrated effort to zip it up. This is not what I thought Canada Goose is about. Instantly returning it.

      Zipper is a real problem

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

I received this coat as a Christmas gift. It’s a very nice coat. Warm, looks very nice, comfortable, and fits quite well. So why 1 star? Because it is a real struggle - and I mean STRUGGLE - to zip the coat up. It is a double zipper, which is fine and expected, but it is extremely difficult to line it up such that you can zip it up. I’ve worn this on an off since I’ve gotten it and I cannot crack the code to just zip the damned thing up. If I could return it, I would immediately do so. But it was purchased as a gift for me over a month ago. So I’m stuck with it. What a disappointment. I do not recommend this jacket. One would think that for this price, a high quality and reliable zipper would be in the offing. No such luck.

I got this as a Christmas gift for my cousin and he LOVES it. He said and I quote, "This is the warmest jacket I've ever worn."

Extremely well-made, great for NYC area

Gifted to my best friend, and he loves it. CG and Fjallraven down jackets are ubiquitous in NYC these days, and Saks has huge floor space dedicated to CG, esp women’s. Been in the teens (low single digits w wind chill) this past week in NYC, and this coat kept him warm with only a long sleeve t-shirt as a base. He found that wearing a short sleeve t-shirt made his arms sweat due to direct contact with the poly lining.

He wears size 36 pants and 43-44 (short) sport coats, and the large was a perfect fit, but with little room for a sweater or fleece base...both of which would be overkill in this area. If you must wear a suit or sweater to work, you should consider sizing up, but be prepared to be REALLY warm when wearing these layers under the coat, especially while in subways, busses and trains, and even at home before you leave the house. You’d want to don this only minutes prior to being exposed to the elements, because, as with most CG down jackets, Langford is not indoor friendly unless you have no heat.

Langford can be flatteringly slimmer (esp darker colors) at the waist (adjustable cinch provided), yet it is still bulky and would be difficult to remove while riding on crowded public transportation vehicles. If you like to or need to layer, I’d suggest purchasing a different jacket with less fill power down.

He agrees with others that the zipper is a pita, but in the end he feels it’s only a speed bump. The mechanism is “left-handed”, in that the two zipper terminals (required for unzipping from the bottom upwards to expose fly, reach into pants pockets, etc) are on the left but need to be firmly held together to form a straight channel in order to enable full insertion of the opposing end. For lefties this process is a bit easier. However, when he’s in a rush (pretty often) he has used the Velcro front flap as a quick alternative to zipping without much loss in warmth, even with the weather is in the teens (but not too windy).

For safety, he removes the fur prior to driving, as it blocks his side mirror vision and also reduces visibility of both rear quarter blind spots. Removing the hood is at most a 15 second task so it’s worth the effort.

      Sturdy and Warm

      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: XL
      • Height: 6'4"

This is a coat made in Canada, rather than in an overseas sweat shop by small children and you can tell the quality difference right away. Fabric, stitching, zippers, are first class. Also fits true to size. I normally wear XL and an XL fit perfect for my 6"4" frame. But you buy the coat to keep you warm and it does that in spades. Bring on wind and cold . . . no problem. Looks really good too!

      coyote fur?

The trapping method Canada Goose uses to kill its coyotes is illegal in every single developed nation except Canada. There is no reason for them to be using coyote fur for urban winter wear (these parkas are meant for ARTIC EXPLORATION, not to get you from starbucks to your apartment building)...Backcountry should really consider taking a moral stand against products like this and choose not to sell them on this site, as the moral values of Canada Goose do not seem to align with those of Backcountry.com or its customers

There is no justification in this day when faux fur is indistinguishable from real fur to trap and kill animals for jackets (the coyote fur on this does not even serve any functional purpose). Search "backcountry peta" to see the campaign against this company's use of wildlife when all other major apparel manufacturers have stopped using real fur.

        His coat of choice

        • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
        • Fit: True to size

"This coat is better than expected. The fit, the warmth, the style has been worth every penny. I have worn this coat out walking about town and when going to dinner. It is the right length for wearing day or night. The quality of the coat is excellent, hood keeps out wind and cold, pockets are good size and keep hands warm. This is my coat of choice now."

I'm very happy with this coat. It is extremely warm. Very pleased that I made the purchase. It fits great. The Only Problem I have it's when I take off my coat I have feather all over my clothing that's not cool -the feathers come through the material.

Canada Goose is a definitely the gold standard of cold weather coats, and I highly recommend the brand, but they've taken the branding a little to far for me. You can always tell a Goose by the giant logo patch on the arm, but this coat also has a huge logo on the back too. I bought it for my husband and briefly considered unpicking the patch stitching, but then decided I didn't like the look of the loop either and for the price we needed to love everything about it. Honestly it's a great, warm, durable coat and if he had a trip to the Arctic planned we would get over the branding. But he does't, so it went back. It runs slightly on the large side, but that allows you to wear your big chunky cable knit sweater and have room to move.

        Perfect

I've needed a new winter coat for a few years now. Not something to wear skiing, but something to wear out and about in the frigid Utah winters. I decided this was the year I went all-out for a coat. I wanted something well made, with good tenure in the industry. I wanted something longer in length, that would keep me warm no matter how cold it gets here in Utah. Something sleek and beautifully made.

I made my decision after searching around for some time; the Canada Goose Langford Down Parka and it does not disappoint on any front.

From the moment I took it out of the packaging I knew I made a great choice. It looks fantastic; it is extremely well made. It has convenient pockets for your phone, keys, or whatever you carry. The hand pockets are lined with fleece and they are great; very warm, very soft. The fur trim hood is incredibly warm and soft, it doesn't make you itch at all. The slim fit and length of this jacket make it a great fit for my slender frame. The waterproofing on this jacket works very well; no issues with that in the slightest. The dual zipper is great if you are all zipped up and have to go the the bathroom or even just grab your phone or some cash out of your pants pockets. Just unzip from the bottom up and you don't have to take the jacket off or compromise warmth to get to your pockets or fly. The adjustable hood is great. You can be shrouded by the hood and fur trim for extra warmth or adjust it back so you can wear it without completely hiding your face.

The jacket keeps out the cold like you wouldn't believe. On very cold days, any part of your body that the jacket covers is completely warm and you feel as if you are not even in the cold. On windy days, you can't feel the wind. It blocks it all out and you just feel warm and comfortable no matter what.

This jacket is perfect if you want something stylish, very warm and extremely well made. It is worth every penny and then a hell of a lot more.

I bought this for my fiance as a "thank you" for our trip to Jackson, WY when it was a high of 10 degrees outside and he was boasting about his jacket the entire trip! He is obsessed and got so many compliments on it. If you want to win major brownie points with your significant other, gift them a CG jacket :)

I'm very happy with this coat. It is extremely warm. Very pleased that I made the purchase. It came wrapped in the original packaging from Canada Goose. I wear a men's size 38 sport coat, and ordered the size Medium. It fits great. You won't go wrong with this coat if you need a really warm coat for the winter.

        heres the deal about sizing

after plenty of tries and research and owning 5 goose jackets ive come up with a sizing chart that could help..i'm 5'11 170 i wear medium in clothing

        for a good fit

the loose fitting like exped-resolute should downsize 2 sizes (xs for me)

for the regular fit like chilliwack downsize 1 ( small for me)

for the slim fit like banff-langford-chateau true to size (medium for me)

if you want to multi layer or like a loose fit then just upgrade 1 size

        ex small for exped-resolute

medium for chilli and large for banff-langford-chateau

        hope this will help!

        Unanswered Question

What's the proper size as everyone is different and each company cuts their jackets differently?
I'm 6' and ~225lb with broad shoulders, more towards an Athletic build, no beer gut, usually ~35", maybe 36" sleeves. Thanks!

Last time I tried the langford in Nordstrom store, a Large was little big for me but considering layering option like a blazer I thought that it was the right size for me but they didnt have a medium for me to try it on. I am 6'1 175lbs wear 40r and 32-33 waist do you think a medium would be the better fit one considering occasional layering option?

        Hey YK!

Based on your measurements and how the Large jacket fit on you, I think you would fit well in the size Medium. Feel free to contact me directly with additional questions, 801 204 4694 or shoot me an email kswistak@backcountry.com

        Hey All,

I'm 5'6 about 125-130 pounds, prefer a slimmer fit but not too tight. Leaning toward an obvious XS but scared since I'm really pushing for 140 this year and if so.. will it fit me too tightly? Will I be okay? Any recommendations?

        Thanks in advance.

I want to buy this as a gift to my uncle who is a 5'9 and 183 lb Asian. Which size shall I choose, M or L?? btw, his chest is 40-41inch. thx

I am about 5'10-5'11 and weigh about 160 pounds, would a size Small or Medium be a better fit for me in the Canada Goose Langford Parka?

I'm trying to choose a parka for young man who is 5-8, with broad shoulders and chest and slim waist (Vshaped torso). What are the comparative "shapes", and also the CBL measurements of the Bomber, Langford, and Chateau jackets? Thank you.

What size would you recommend for someone who is 6' 1, 170lbs? Athletic but slim build, think svelte.

        Hey John,

I would recommend you go with a Medium in the Canada Goose Langford Down Parka if you want a more svelte fit. Feel free to contact me directly with any more questions about this or other Canada Goose Jackets.

Hello, I know it's probably close to the end of the season, but any chance that you'll restock the black color Langford parka (size S)? If not, do you know about when the next season will start selling again?

        Unanswered Question

Could someone respond to the below so we can make an informed decision. Thank you:

Can you please advise why backcountry's sizing chart for the waist measurements, are different from Canada Goosse's measurements

        EXAMPLE:

        WAIST for 2XL

        CG 40' - 44'

        BC 45' - 48'

        Which one should we follow?

        Unanswered Question

Can you send your product to Kazakhstan?

if it is - possitive answer, what is the price of shipping?

        Unanswered Question

Thanks Travis for your answer . Can you please advise why backcountry's sizing chart waist measurements, are different from CG's measurements

        WAIST

        CG 40' - 44'

        BC 45' - 48'

In regards to the sizing chart on the CG website, the measurements for 2XL states that the waist is between 40' and 44' is that the actual measurement when measuring with a measuring tape? The reason I ask, is that my actual measurement, is around 47' - 48' but I wear 44' pants from other brands such as Columbia etc. The rest of my measurements fit into the 2XL category

        Size Question:

What size would I best fit in the Canada Goose Langford parka - Medium or Large? I am 6'0", 175 pounds, approximately 40" chest and wear a 33" sleeve. Assume I would occasionally wear a suit jacket under the parka.

        Thank you for your help.

The Langford & the Chateau see to be quite...

The Langford & the Chateau see to be quite similar. What are the main differences? I'm 6'2", 240lbs with a 40" waist...not exactly slim. Would an XL work for my size, please advise. Do you have black available in either of the latter in stock. Order pending, thanks! Tom. C

        Tom,

A couple of differences between these two parkas: 1)The Langford uses 650fill down compared to 625fill in the Chateau, 2) The Langford has a 36.5" center back length while the Chateau has a 34" CBL, 3) the Langford uses external cargo pockets while the Chateau uses diagonal hand pockets, and 4) the Langford has a velcro placket closure while the Chateau uses button closures.

(These differences are illustative but not exhaustive)
