At first I was not a fan of this brand mainly due to price and celebrities parading around in them lol. I also was not a fan of fur ( and I dont believe a thing Peta says). I was tired of having to wear hoodies and layers under my other coats to stay warm which only created bulk. I still was not warm. My husband got this for me after he kept hearing me complain about my other coats and jackets not being warm enough. I never have had a coat as expensive as this.... I immediately fell in love with the look, quality and warmth! I also never had a fur hood on any coat and it really does keep your face warm. The large pockets are great for my phone and other things i want to carry when out with my dogs. Love the handwarmer pockets too. I am 5ft 2in 142lb (I love lifting weights). Purchased a large in graphite. I always have a heck of a time getting clothes to fit my arms and shoulders. Usually I cannot hold my arms out straight in front of me if i buy my usual size of medium. I seriously need an extra medium in everything. This coat is just below my knees so it is long on me but not a problem... and i rolled the cuffs in to the stitch mark because the sleeves were a tad bit too long. Zipping up all the way was uncomfortable around my neck but it has loosened up and not as tight. Since it is long on me, it takes a second to zip myself up. No biggie. I love that I can unzip the lower half of the zipper for extra room (easier to bend down when i clean up after my dogs). I love when it is cold just so I can wear this parka. The Kensington is my favorite design. People have done a double take when I walk by... absolutely buy this parka! When warm weather comes I will miss wearing this for sure. The one that complained about wind cutting through and poor quality? No idea what she is on about. I was in wind that just about blew me down one night and immediately smiled because it was not getting through this coat! You can see and feel the quality of this. Is she sure she did not buy a fake?

I live in MN and this jacket is not warm enough for winters here, the wind goes right through it . The zipper is ridiculously hard to zip up, and the quality is poor. The fur trimmed hood is oddly shaped and bulky. Overall, the jacket is not comfortable nor practical. I treated myself to this as an early Christmas gift. I regret that I didn't return it and get something much warmer and less costly.

I wanted this parka to work SO BADLY, however, it just did not. First of all, the sizing is odd. I am 115lbs and 5'6" with a slender build. The small fit my arms and shoulders well, but the body of the coat looked so bulky. The XS size fit my body better, but was tight in my shoulders/arms area with any sort of heavy clothing underneath. Additionally, the bottom of this jacket is a strange (and unflattering) bell shape. I wore the XS for a week and realized it just did not fit well enough to keep. Secondly, for a $900 jacket, this should keep you much warmer than it did. I wore it for a week in Jackson Hole with mild 20 degree temperatures and was definitely colder than in my previous - average - jacket. I think this is because of the shape of the bottom of the coat. It splits open in the front and seems to let A LOT of cold air into the body of the parka. Overall, I'm super disappointed. I really wanted this parka to work but cannot justify keeping it with all of the issues. In the future, I might try a different style.

Haha!! What is she talking about!?!? Obviously not The Kensington. I personally own this coat and can tell you that it is not at all how this gal described (she OBVIOUSLY never wore it 🤪!!) It is by far the warmest, driest and most FLATTERING woman’s parka EVER made! I receive compliments every day! So splurge and buy this coat... it’s an investment and will last your lifetime! Btw, I’m a small hipped, DDD bust, 5’7”, 125# female and my figure looks amazing in this style. Mine is a small. I feel like a QUEEN whenever I wear it!

I recently gifted this to my sister for her birthday and have feedback to share: The warmest parka: I was recently gifted the Kensington parka in the graphite color. I am very pleased! Not only is this parka one of the warmest (I recently wore it to Sundance in 13 degree snowy weather), but I also receive countless compliments on the color—because it isn’t the typical black parka. The parka runs true to size, I am 5’2 and fit comfortably in a size small. I would not recommend sizing up for this particular style of parka. Overall, this parka is versatile, stylish, and (most importantly) warm beyond belief!

The removable coyote fur ruff provides the ultimate protection against cold wind, and coupled with the fleece-lined adjustable hood, is an extremely soft and comfortable way to brave the elements. The storm placket that runs down the front of the parka, protecting a heavy-duty YKK zipper, is secured with military style buttons. The Kensington features two sets of handwarmer pockets, two small snap-secured pockets at the chest and two larger pockets protected by a military button flap at the hip! Also worth mentioning, it has two snap-closed back vents which can be opened if you happen to get too toasty. The inside of the jacket has two shoulder straps for carrying the parka on your back, and a single velcro-closed drop pocket on the left side. There are knit cuffs inside the sleeves so your arms stay warm if your hands get a little cold. This jacket is rated a TEI 3 on Canada Goose's Thermal Experience Index meaning: Fundamental warmth fashioned for everyday use. I am 5'31/2" 130lbs 34-36B: Small build: wear medium in coats 2nd to wide back: small in shirts. Ordered this coat in medium. Pros: it fit perfect with room for a few layers and I could move freely: it felt fantastic on. The price was great (699.00 compared to 900 at stores). Cons: Thin coat, do not see how it could really be warm at -15 for which it is rated unless you were wearing compression gear under. My husband did not like the way it splayed out at the bottom: told him it does look better on taller women. I am also not sure how the goose down and the fox fur is gathered. I would hope humanely, but I see a lot of facebook posts from PETA and it makes me sad when I have another alternative down coat with faux fur hood (people ask me if it's real...) and it is definitely warm in -15 because I have worn it to Whistler twice and Aspen and Park City during the recent snow storm during Sundance and I felt very stylish in it. Also feel the Arm emblem could be less tacky looking for 699$.

I purchased this jacket for my sister as a birthday gift, and she's just finally gotten around to wearing it. She's worn it in the most frigid temperatures the East Coast has to offer, and thus far the only complaint she has echoes what another reviewer has said - the pockets are shallow. Other than that, the fit is great(S, 5'4 115) and she's very pleased with the cut.

I debated over this jacket for a few weeks. I could not decide between the Kensington and the Trillium. I finally decided on the Kensington as I felt it was much less bulky and slim fitting. I also debated on sizing for a while. At first I purchased the XS. I'am 5'4" and 121lbs. Im very small in the shoulders and chest (34B) so I though the XS was perfect. When I tried it on at home a realized I couldn't fit too much under it and the neck was tight when I zipped it up. I ended up exchanging for the small and like the fit a lot better. My only complaint is that the neck area is still a little small and for those really cold days it would be nice to have something that you can tuck your face in to. But I wore it the other night for a walk with the dogs in 20 degrees and I have to say I was very warm! If you are debating on size with this jacket I would go up a size. If your debating on style I'd say the trillium is really nice also just a little bulkier in the shoulders and not as long as the Kensington. I hope my review can help someone from agonizing over a coat for as long as I did to find the right one!

The Kensington Slim Fit Parka has a unique flattering style. When I see others wearing the Kensington about town, I notice the quality, luxury and attractive styling. What to love: the quality of the fabric, the details in styling {military buttons, feminine figure flattering cut, quality of the Coyote fur, a hood where form follows function}. I live in one of the coldest states in the US (North Dakota), which is sometimes colder than parts of Alaska due to the fierce winds and frigid wind chills- -30 without the wind chill. The Kensington is a lovely coat no doubt, but has areas where it could be improved. 1. It could be warmer. There is distinct lack of feathers in the arms and lower front of the coat. (I added duck down feathers from a comforter to solve this problem). I purchased the Mystique for the extremely bitter cold - fantastic. The Mystique has the same 625-fill power duck down insulation, but is much much warmer and more stylish than in the pictures. It also has more duck down insulation in the arms and body. 2. The neck has the same fabric as the wrist and it was chocking me when I zipped up the coat. (I removed the neck band and made one similar to the Mystique - problem solved). 3.The storm placket is open at the bottom letting in the frigid wind and creates a less slim look. The 'Lorette' Hooded Down Parka with Genuine Coyote Fur Trim seems to have addressed this issue. (I extended the placket, problem solved). I do NOT recommend all the sewing alterations, but I do recommend, the adorable Kensington for the not so frigid temperatures. Therefore, a 4 star recommendation. For just $50 more, the Mystique is the warmer of the two coats. However, the styling of the Kensington is really marvelously chic for about town wear. I know own the Lorette which seems to be a streamlined version of the Kensington. Very flattering, lighter in weight perhaps due to the chambers for the feathers. It also seems a bit shorter.

Hi, I'm looking to buy a parka from Canada goose but am lost among the choices. All parkas seem to have 625 duck down fill power. What are the differences in them? I am looking for something long, extremely warm, and waterproof if possible. Thank you!

Hey there, You're right, they generally do all have that 625 fill down, so the major differences are going to be length and details that contribute to style/appearance.

What size would you recommend for someone 5'4" and 125 lbs?

Hey Lauren, The best advise I can give would be to get your chest measurement and compare it against the provided size chart. Height and weight are too effected by the lower have of your body and could easily throw off deciding between two sizes. If after you get your chest measurement and you are still unsure which size to get please give us a call or chat in and one of our Gearheads would be happy to help you out.

nicole, Unfortunately we do not have any more smalls in stock in the Canada Goose Kensington. However, it looks like we do have size small in the Canada Goose Victoria and Montebello. We typically do have a good run of sizes for these parkas, but they have been very popular for us this year, and we are now fairly late in the season. Again, we do have some smalls left in select models and colors, but you can expect a broader range when we get the 2014-2015 models in stock around September.
