Emory Parka

Cold New England winters and bone-chilling cold spells in the Windy City call for the Canada Goose Men's Emory Parka. Packed full of Arctic-worthy down insulation, the Emory offers unsurpassed warmth when the mercury drops to intolerable degrees. Earning a four on Canada Goose's Thermal Experience Index, the Emory will keep you warm in temperatures as low as 5F and comfortable when they duck as low as -15F.

The robust fabric withstands wind, wear, and water thanks to a stout cotton blend construction and DWR treatment. A fur ruff along the hood puts the jacket on par with vintage parkas, but it is also removable when you're just wearing the jacket around town. Never one to overlook the importance of fit, Canada Goose gave this jacket a flatteringly slim silhouette through the body with a mid-length hem for added coverage and warmth for those especially cold days.

  • Enduring warmth for winter's coldest months
  • 625-fill down is light in weight and heavy on warmth
  • Vertically adjustable hood adapts to changing weather
  • Coyote fur ruff at hood is removable
  • Lined chin guard adds next-to-skin comfort
  • Elasticized skirt seals out snow and cold drafts
  • Slim fitting through the body with hip-length hem
  • Item #CDG004P

Canada Goose Emory Parka

My initial parka had a bottom zipper issue where it would get stuck and have a really hard time zipping upwards for when I was driving, sitting down, etc. Thankfully, Backcountry has the best customer service of all time! (Thanks Ari and Sara) They were able to set up an exchange for the same exact parka and this one is perfect with no issues whatsoever. I live in Michigan where we often experience all four seasons in one day. This Canada Goose parka has performed phenomenally in all weather conditions. These are the main features that really stand out to me: 1) The wiring in the hood to adjust where the fur is, doesn't sound all that useful until you actually have it! Nice to keep the fur close to your ears and head when you don't have a beanie. 2) The wrist cuffs in the sleeves are nice and long to trap any heat in and keep cold winds from going up your arms. 3) Being able to remove the fur if it's raining or sleeting; I didn't want to ruin this beautiful fur in any wet conditions. 4) The fit; I am 6'3", 190lbs and the Large is a beautiful fit. It has all of the benefits of a big, puffy parka while maintaining a slimmer fit. The most I would wear under this parka would be a single, thick sweater or a lightweight hoodie with a T-shirt underneath. Anything else is overkill and you will be sweating if you're indoors. 5) The dual chest pockets with the handwarmers and the dual pockets with handwarmers on the outside. To summarize, it's a be-all, end-all parka for any and all weather conditions. Yes... it's pricey; however, if you live in the northern hemisphere or anywhere with extreme weather conditions, this parka is a worthy investment.

(More in-depth detail in pt. 1 - was limited by character count) Overview: Pros: - Weight - Packaging - Ease of purchase - Backcountry customer support Cons: - Stitching on patch - Stains on jacket - Matted/pressed fur trim - uneven fur trim - Down filling is very flat (hopefully will get better over time) Watermark was added to prevent others from using them for nefarious means (note: the loose strands of fur in the pictures are from the hood trim) (note 2: this site only lets you upload 1 picture, so I had to combine them.)

I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but man was this a disappointing purchase. If I were to do this again, I probably wouldn't. Here's why: Purchased this parka "new" from Backcountry last week. It arrived today neatly packaged in a plastic Canada Goose bag and brown cardboard shipping box. However, the jacket itself does not appear to have great quality control. There are numerous stains on the parka and the red Canada Goose shoulder patch has a loose thread. Not sure if it was previously worn/returned or came from the factory like this. The fur hood trim was compressed down at a couple areas and isn't very fluffy/uniform. The down filling also isn't very puffy. I'd like to believe that the fur and down being like this is just due to the way the factory packaged it for shipping, so hopefully it'll get better over time. On the plus side, the stitching elsewhere seems good and it has a good weight to it. I was really looking forward to this jacket, but seeing the condition upon opening was pretty disappointing, especially for the price. The parka is out of stock now, so hopefully the dry cleaner will be able to get the stains out. Nothing wrong with backcountry, but canada goose's quality control has gone a bit downhill though Does the build quality and materials justify the price tag? eh, you can be the judge of that Did I buy it for the red circle on the shoulder? Most definitely

Bought this for my girlfriend and we live in the Pacific Northwest. This jacket is amazing! Honestly it's probably too much for where we live. It's roughly around 35-40 degrees at night and she sweats in it.

I was hesitant due to the price, but I tried this and a comparable north face and this won hands down. Don't hesitate -- if you can afford this jacket and will be somewhere really cold, buy it. I'm a Canada Goose customer for life now.

my body is near fat. i choose emory xl size, it's really true to size for me. the most important thing is chest width when you choose the size. my chest width is 110 cm, so the emory is better choosing xl (112 cm-117cm), this size is ok for me. the winter time is easy for me now. i just wear a T-shirt inside, outside just the emory is comfortable.
