Far better than expected
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
In the past, I have hated to wear hydration packs. I needed it to do White Rim Trail in a day. This vest was outstanding. The best part was that it neither restricted movement nor altered balance nor made me too hot. I’ve experienced all with other packs. This one, I forgot was there over 100+ mile rides with lots of climbing and off-road.

I guess what I would
I guess what I would really like is the Mule with pouch straps for phone and glasses. Just combine the two

Overall, I very much like
Overall, I very much like the pack. I bought it bc I wanted something shorter in the back that would allow access to jersey pockets, along with easy access storage in the front shoulder straps. The only downside to this design is the way you have to weave in the top of the reservoir sack to the top of its handle. This is awkward and seems as though it will eventually break. My Lobo pack has a flap that the reservoir handle slips into—very user friendly and sturdy.

I was initially skeptical that
I was initially skeptical that I would like this pack, but boy was I wrong. The way it sits on your back without a waist strap really makes it disappear. It carries the perfect amount of water for everything but full on all day adventure rides. The pockets in front for your phone, and other essentials are fantastic, with plenty of space for tools, jackets, and whatnot.

Pretty impressed
I like most of the design of the Chase 8. It stays in place very well, and offers quite a bit more space than the waist pack I had been using. For all that it does well, I would love to see 2 modifications: 1) better organization… there are a few pockets on the main bag but feels like an awkward/unfamiliar layout. Considering how well the chest pockets are designed, I’d like a little more in the main pack area as well. 2) vent channels in the back panel… while the pack doesn’t take up your whole back, it gets hot where the bag covers because the whole thing is flat against your back. Could have easily put some of the angled panels from MULE packs in there to allow some airflow. At least a center channel! Otherwise the pack is great. The chest pockets are really a game-changer, great to keep gels/snacks and your phone handy during a ride!

Great fit
This vest fits well and rides high on my chest and back. I stay cool wearing this vest, even in the hot desert months of the southwest.

It's a problem solver
great design, plenty of water capacity, and storage for needs for most rides, plus the all important front pockets for keeping the mid ride necessities at the ready without having to take of the pack. The harness system keeps the pack high and tight with ability to access jersey pockets if needed. Well done!
