I was initially skeptical that

I was initially skeptical that I would like this pack, but boy was I wrong. The way it sits on your back without a waist strap really makes it disappear. It carries the perfect amount of water for everything but full on all day adventure rides. The pockets in front for your phone, and other essentials are fantastic, with plenty of space for tools, jackets, and whatnot.

Pretty impressed

I like most of the design of the Chase 8. It stays in place very well, and offers quite a bit more space than the waist pack I had been using. For all that it does well, I would love to see 2 modifications: 1) better organization… there are a few pockets on the main bag but feels like an awkward/unfamiliar layout. Considering how well the chest pockets are designed, I’d like a little more in the main pack area as well. 2) vent channels in the back panel… while the pack doesn’t take up your whole back, it gets hot where the bag covers because the whole thing is flat against your back. Could have easily put some of the angled panels from MULE packs in there to allow some airflow. At least a center channel! Otherwise the pack is great. The chest pockets are really a game-changer, great to keep gels/snacks and your phone handy during a ride!

Great fit

This vest fits well and rides high on my chest and back. I stay cool wearing this vest, even in the hot desert months of the southwest.

It's a problem solver

great design, plenty of water capacity, and storage for needs for most rides, plus the all important front pockets for keeping the mid ride necessities at the ready without having to take of the pack. The harness system keeps the pack high and tight with ability to access jersey pockets if needed. Well done!

Endurance event ready

My wife and I both bought one for a major off road event with gnarly downhills and technical climbs. What sets the Chase 8 apart from our other packs is how stable it sits on your back. When the trail throws you around, your not taking additional abuse from what's on your back, it flows with you. Up front storage for food and even the bigger mobile phones so you don't have to stop to fuel up or snap a pic.

Love it! Has many compartments at the front just like a hiking vest, but super spacious yet not bulky.

love it

Super impressed with this pack, best mtb pack I've found! Comfortable, well placed pockets on the front and nice minimal storage in the back with room for everything I need for long rides. Nice work Camelbak

Coming from the smaller Camelbak Chase this one is a dissapointment

Bought the Camelbak Chase. Loved it. One of my favorite packs I've ever owned. The multiple zippered pockets on the front of the shoulder straps were a game changer. Makes the Chase such a great pack and punch above it's weight for load bearing capacity. With summer hitting I wanted a bit more water capacity so I went with the Chase 8. If you aren't coming from the smaller chase you might find the Chase 8 a great pack but as a Chase user the shoulder strap layout is an extreme disappointment. Nice versatile zippered pockets that can perform a variety of load carrying functions are replaced with cheap thin mesh pockets. My Chase 8 sits unused in a closet while my original chase gets used with an extra water bottle in the frame.
