    These things are unexpectedly amazing

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

dampened with water and it cooled me down on hot days. wore it around my neck to avoid sunburn. easy to wash and dry on the road. a killer headband.

Only caveat: a wee bit too snug if you have a large head, like me.

I have more of these than I can count. Different colors, different patterns, etc..... As you can guess, I'm worried about sunburn, windburn, fine lines and wrinkling, brown spots, etc..... I want to keep my skin looking young for as long as possible and the sun is definitely working against me especially at the high altitude in Telluride so I use the Buff UV.

I bring one on pretty much every outdoor activity (other than beach and water sports) in every season. No problems washing them a lot although I choose to hang dry for an extra long life.

Between my ski goggles, helmet and Buff, I have to admit that sometimes I look like a bandit but the pretty prints and colors offset the "bandit" effect. And sometimes it's not bad to be incognito....

A photo of me in full "bandit" mode

    Buff uv prints

The embarrassing fact is that I own well over 20 buff headbands. I absolutely can't live without them. I can put them into everyday use, and they always wash well. There are a multitude of ways to wear them. My two favorite ways are 1. As a headband , scrunched or folded up. And 2. As a scarf lying loosely on the neck. With so many different prints available, they can suit many personalities or color preferences. Wear them to hike, bike, walk, yoga, gym, or on a lazy day. Every time I wear one, someone will ask, what is that cool headband in your hair? Or where is that scarf from? It's the most versatile item that I own. Period

    In the Buff...

What are these not good for? Alpine climbing? Check. Ultra-running? Check. Skitouring? Check. Beating about town to keep warm? Check.

I always make sure to wrap-up before going out to play and the Buff makes that easy - and good looking.

    In the Buff...

    not for me

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Maybe I got a defective product, but the ends of the buff were not seamed. If I was to put this in the washing machine it would get torn up. It was already falling apart when i was just simply touching the ends. I already had the headband UV buff, which I love, but this one, not loving. Returned.

    Give your brain some shade!

No matter the season there is a use for my UV Buff.

      Hot Times:

+ I mainly sport it dew rag style (pirate) for hiking, discing and running.

+ Absorbs sweat like a champ.

+ Even though mine is printed black it keeps my head cool. I've got very short hair and that sun can be murder!

      Cold Times:

+ Worn it as a neck gaiter or light ninja mask.

+ Worn as a beanie on it's own or because it's so low profile fit it under my bike helmet for winter riding!

UV Buff is nice in the winter, but an absolute MUST in the summer! Fold it down and stash it with even if you don't think you'll need it.

I like it, did the job and looked good doing it. Solid addition to the arsenal. Definitely would not wear in the 20's or lower. 42 today at the bird and I got to go sunscreen free in comfort. I call that a win.
