Why We Like The Clutch Carbon Side Entry Cage
Whether we’re racing or just riding our newest full-suspension mountain bikes, the Blackburn Clutch Carbon Side Entry Cage comes in clutch for our water-bottle accessibility needs. Left or right side load compatible, we use this cage from Blackburn when our front triangle is a bit too small to handle a normal bat-cage style water bottle mount.

great side entry cages
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Bought 2 of these, 1 right 1 left to run on my hardtail. Running two 21oz bottles, I've logged 2 xc races and 20+ hours of training rides with no bottle ejecting from the cage. Sometimes, getting the bottle back into the cage correctly can be tough on rougher terrain, but the security of the cage being snug is better than losing a bottle mid ride/race. These also color match my Trek Procaliber perfectly which is an added bonus.

Works great!!!

Oct 2021 update... So one of the two cages snapped as I was putting the bottle back in, bummer since it was at the start of the ride BUT Called Blackburn and found out it has a LIFETIME WARRANTY. They had a matching one in stock and shipped it to me within a week, no charge! A bit pricey but the only bottle cage that did what I needed it to do, and did it well. A bit of a small front triangle on my frame made (almost) impossible to find a way to mount two bottle cages with 24oz bottles and my TopTube Bag. These can mount really low on the frame and are thin enough to get close together. They are also the only side pull cage I've tried that allows you to put the bottles in directly from the side and pivot up into place.

Great lightweight

Have this on my new Ripmo V2 and it works like a charm. Bottle stays snug through rough terrain, jumps, drops, and hard hits. No problems thus far.

I have several cages and this is my favorite. Lot's of jumps and rough stuff and never lost a bottle.

Won't hold bottles

Love the way this cage looks, its lightness, and the side entry, but bottles fly out of it at the least bump. I've got it mounted on my road bike, and have tried both Camelbak and Elite bottles, and both come flying out. Very disappointing.
