Why We Like The Zone Harness
We tie in with the Zone Harness when we're ready to link our beta together. We stem, heel hook, and twist freely in the four-way stretch material. The cushy inserts and mesh lining let breezes in and heat out to keep us cool as we fight our way to the chains.

Zone Harness
I really enjoy it so dar. Its a great fit and the material feels nice. I have used it for top rope only and am excited to try lead climbing in it.

ergonomic & svelte
Feels like I'm not even wearing a harness. The infinity loop is a nice bonus.

Fits the bill
Ice, rock, indoors or outside, this harness is comfortable in whatever setting you’re into. Fit is great, comfortable, gear loops for days. Support is phenomenal.

Great harness
Great product. It’s light with 5 gear loops. I have used the harness a several multi-pitch routes with no complaints.

Nice overall but the solution is more comfortable
With the caveat that I’ve only used this harness once so far and owned a BD Solution harness for about five years, this felt slightly less comfortable overall and seems to fit slightly on the smaller side as well. I found the wider legs loops on the Solution to be more supportive while hanging and lowering, while I didn’t actually notice the reduced weight the Zone’s narrower design supposedly affords. The infinity belay loops and extra gear loops are definitely pluses though. I’m about120lb/5’7” and got a size small. The waist fits well, but the leg loops are a bit snug. I wore the same size in the Solution without an issue. I’m a woman, but generally prefer the men’s style harness because of the narrower leg loops and lower rise.

Solid wish the legs were
Solid wish the legs were adjustable but it’s 100% awesome either way

Great for Sport climbing
Nice lightweight harness for sport red points. Nice and lightweight for climbing but would probably be just a bit uncomfortable if you’re belaying or hanging in it for long periods of time

Nice Harness
Haven't gotten to use the ice-tool slots but everything else works great. I like the new belay loop construction. Forget I'm wearing the harness when climbing and it folds up small enough to put in the pack.

A great harness, but could be combined with the Solution to be better.
High level: this is a great high performance harness that needlessly sacrifices a bit of comfort to shave a miniscule amount of weight (23 grams) over the Solution, but adds a few features that make it much more versatile. Pros: - Very lightweight, packable - Infinity belay loop is quite nice, and I hope to see it on more BD harnesses - 5th gear loop and ice clipper slots add versatility Cons: - Small-ish gear loops: - Slightly less comfortable than the Solution as the waist and leg loops are a bit narrower throughout. With both the Solution and the Zone marketed and used as sport climbing harnesses it can be difficult to discern the difference between the two. Unfortunately, besides the price point, the difference is an unnecessary decision between comfort and features. The Solution is hands down the most comfortable harness I've ever used, but is limited a bit by its gear carrying capacity and lack of ice clipper slots. The Zone adds these features with a 5th gear loop and ice clipper slots, but is just slightly less comfortable due to its narrower waist and leg loops. Its not uncomfortable, and ostensibly, this is to shave weight - which ends up being 23 grams difference in a size medium. I can't say I've ever not sent due to 23 grams on my harness, but I do notice the difference in the comfort when hanging and belaying. Further, I don't understand why BD continues to double down on smaller gear loops. It wouldn't add much weight compared to utility to make the front gear loops the same width as those on the Technician/Solution Guide, and perhaps a bit deeper. Still, while it wouldn't be my ultimate pick for heavy trad days, with UL C4's it is possible to fit a double rack on the Zone, especially with the rear gear loop for belay devices, shoes, anchor material etc. This is more or less in line with its design as a high end sport climbing harness that can cross over into ice and alpine. In summary, my recommendation to BD would be to merge the Solution and the Zone and have the best of both worlds - comfort of the Solution and versatility of the Zone and forget about the 23 grams of weight difference - it would still be perfectly lightweight enough. That would be the ultimate sport and lightweight trad/alpine/ice harness, and keep offerings like the Solution Guide and Technician for heavier duty trad and alpine. In the meantime, for those trying to decide on a harness - pick the Solution if comfort means the most to you, and pick the Zone if you want a lightweight, highly versatile harness that sacrifices just a bit of comfort.
