Whippet Ski Pole
Alpine pole designed to allow you to easily self-arrest when you're traveling in slick terrain or descending in a no-fall zone. The Whippet offers versatility, durability, and adjustability for skiing or snowboarding in those big mountain situations but is still useful on mellower deep powder days.

Great for climbing!
I’ve never used this product to self arrest and seldom feel the need to use it for descents, although I have. What I really love about it, is that it turns a ski pole into “half” a mountaineering axe and is great for ascents that almost require a second axe! I’ve mostly used it in Colorado and the PNW!

awesome tool
took a pretty big slide while touring a couple weeks ago and bought this that night. not something you want to rely on while touring but feels great to have it in icey side hill conditions. Well worth it! Kind of heavy relative to my other poles but not too bad to get used to

Best pole
Amazing. So good. It performs big when it needs to be and very tough/hard!

Great evolution of a classic tool
I was slow to adopt the latest-generation whippet after using an old carbon one for the last 12 years. I finally caved and this works exactly like it should. The connection between the pick and pole feels super solid. It's easy to throw the pick in your pack when it's not needed. I actually enjoy Whippet-worthy tours more now that I can just put the pick on when I need it.

Peace of mind
The Whippet is a great addition to my backcountry ski gear selection. When you're skiing in "no-fall" terrain, it's nice to know you have a tool, just in case. And when you don't need the ice axe, it's easy to remove and you're left with a really nice ski pole. I would highly recommend the Whippet for any backcountry skier.

The best
Nothing beats a whippet. The extra degree of confidence is inspiring, and the safety factor is great when. skiing hard approaches. Great addition to any arsenal. Love them.

My new go to winter hiking pole
The Whippet is perfect for my winter hikes and Colorado 14er climbs that don’t require an axe but could use a bit more than a trekking pole! I wish I would have had this up on Chimborazo as a secondary device to my Ice Axe as well.

Fantastic tool for winter in the Adirondacks
Having the whippet ski pole in one hand and my regular Black Diamond trekking pole in the other has added a felt sense of security to winter hikes and climbs throughout the High Peaks. Being able to dig in with the whippet so easily is a game changer!
