Speed Zip 24L Backpack

Black Diamond designed its Speed Zip 24 Backpack to be the one climbing pack you need whether you're climbing ice in Bozeman, sandstone at the Creek, or snow in Cascadia. Its zippered clamshell top grants easy access to climbing gear and extra layers, while the ice tool PickPockets and snag-free crampon straps secure your mountaineering and ice climbing essentials. Already sporting a bare bones alpine-specific design, the Speed Zip can be stripped down even more thanks to the removable hipbelt, framesheet, and foam bivy pad for those times you're forced to make an unexpected stay on the mountain. Chances are good you'll have this pack stuffed to the gills with gear when you venture into the alpine, so BD added a hydration compatible sleeve, so you won't have to try to stuff water bottles and bladders in with the rest of your climbing gear.

Fast and Light

Great pack! Very simple design yet highly functional. Perfect for sending Alpine routes when you need to move fast but also lug some technical gear with you. This pack is definitely made for peak bagging though, it gets pretty uncomfortable if you load to much stuff in it. Gotta keep it light.

Perfect size for single day mountain adventures! The features of the bag are well thought out. You can comfortably strap two 60m ropes on top, while carrying some food, clothes and a single rack. I lead with the bag and barely feel it. However, it's really not meant to be overpacked; It has zero padding or solid structure.

Perfect summit pack

Carrying it in my larger pack on overnight missions for bigger objectives had worked out great so far- the zipper access/style is way better in my option than the usual flip open and buckle closed version of all my other packs too
