    BD's Solution for sport sending.

Sport climbers asked for a harness that provides uninhibited mobility, superior comfort, and long-lasting durability; Black Diamond responded with the Women's Solution Harness. Fusion Comfort Technology fuses three separate strands to four-way stretch nylon and 3D air mesh to ensure the best performance on the wall as well as a comfortable catch when you fall off the wall. The Solution also comes with four gear loops for a lot of quickdraws, an auto-locking waist belt for a precise fit, elastic leg loops, and releasable risers in case you nearly poop yourself on a run-out.

    Great for Sport Climbing

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

If you made a triangle diagram and put "Affordable", "Lightweight" and "Comfortable" in each corner this harness would land really close to the middle. That's exactly what I was looking for in a harness, which is why I rate it so high, but if you're looking for something extremely lightweight, or comfortable, or cheap, or good for ice climbing/trad I suggest you look at other harnesses. If you want a good sport climbing harness, this is the one you want. Bonus, the Black/Octane looks gooooooooooood.

    Already seeing wear.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is my 2nd black diamond harness. The first one lasted for over 3 years (2/week avg use). I had this for less than half year and I already see wear that I still don't see in the first one.

    All Time Favorite

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've used this harness for the past six months both in the gym and outside, and it's been amazing! It's super lightweight and thin, but still provides enough padding to stay comfortable for hours. Highly recommend!

    Lightweight Sending

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This was my first ever climbing harness and I still use it almost 3 years later (though it's probably time to invest in a new one!)

It's a simple harness designed for sport climbing indoors and outdoors, and is extremely lightweight / comfortable. One of my favorite features is that the leg loops are non adjustable. This eliminates the need to mess around with fit, and it doesn't have any straps that would otherwise flop around. I have a pretty androgynous body with straight/athletic legs, so the leg loops work perfectly for my body type. If you have curvier legs, I'd look at something like the Primrose Speed Adjust or Lotus Harness!

I've used this harness for multi pitch climbs as well -- on multi pitch climbs you are often directed in to bolts and sitting in your harness for long periods of time while you belay the climber. After hours of wearing this harness I never felt any pinching or lower back pain.

You could use this for trad - which I have - but it's not really designed for that. It only has 4 gear loops and while it works, I found that the weight of the gear would pull the waist of the harness down a bit. If the harness fits you well then this isn't really a safety issue, just a minor thing.

Otherwise I really love the Solution harness! Whether you're just getting into climbing or are looking to upgrade your old harness, this is a good option to consider.

    Good fit

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I picked these up for my 18 year old daughter who had wore out her other harness. She is very petite, and asked for the XS based on others feedback. This fit her very well, including the leg hoops. She is just getting back into climbing, and hasn't done anything overly technical or long duration, so I cannot attest to longevity in that aspect. Overall it fits her need, and seems to be of good quality.

    Quality at a good price

I think that women's harnesses work a best for tall people because they have more space between the leg loops and waist.
The solution is really comfortable and affordable given the quality.
A haul loop would be a welcome addition, but I am not sure bd does that on any of their sport harnesses.

I was really psyched for this initially, and loved this harness for about two weeks. It's really light and comfortable, but after a while I've noticed the leg loops tend to fold over on themselves creating a focal point of all the weight in one spot. It's incredibly annoying and uncomfortable.

Good for the gym, not for heavy use

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought this without thinking about how hard I would be on this harness. I was mainly sport climbing but in the past few weeks ive transitioned into mostly multi pitch and trad, so this harness leaves a lot to be desired when I need it to hold up all of my gear. I am going to keep it because it's soooo comfy and cute for my gym climbs. But if you're pretty rough on your gear and climb outside a lot, I recommend finding something in a darker color that can hold up the amount of gear you're hauling up the wall.

        Back Problems Begone

        • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I gave this harness to my girlfriend as a gift and it has changed her climbing forever. She had an older BD harness that gave her some serious lower back issues, but as soon as she started using this one they went away almost immediately!

Super simple design, with plenty of room to rack up and get rowdy, this lightweight harness is good for everything from single pitch sport to multi- pitch trad. If you are in need of a new harness, you've just found it.

If you’re looking into harnessesand are looking for a recommendation, give me a call or shoot me an email and I’d be happy to help you out with some recommendations.

I’m typically in the office Monday-Friday and would love to talk, but if you call and I’m not in, make sure to leave the best number to call you back at or your email address in the voicemail.

        Awesome Harness

        • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I just got this harness for my girlfriend who's been getting into climbing. She really liked how lightweight this felt on her hips. This harness doesn't have a lot of padding to it but the 4 way stretch nylon that this is made of has a very nice relief to it. Black Diamond designed this harness for those fast and light accents. Even though it has a minimalist design it still features 4 gear loops for proper organization, and is great for all different styles of climbing. A great comparison would be the Arc'teryx FL-355 but I like this one a little bit more because of the elastic in the leg loops, it forms to your legs a little better. I'd recommend this to anyone who is looking to practice climbing weather it be sport, trad, or alpine.

        Love the harness

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I'm a beginner climber, but I use this harness 3-4 times a week. I am 5'6", 26 waist, 124lb. The small fits me well (the leg loops are a bit big for me and aren't adjustable, but don't cause me any issues). I feel that the material is more comfortable when you're sitting in the harness, compared to the Black Diamond Primrose. It also feels lighter and conforms to your body better. There is a detachable hook in the back to quickly remove the back elastic straps. Very well made and love it so far!
