    Essential

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Any climber who wants to venture into multi-pitch climbing knows how crucial a personal anchor system really is. This is a great choice from Black Diamond. It's made of a lightweight Dynex that is durable, and has a nice green and red loop at the end so you anchor properly. I'd recommend this to any climber looking to get on bigger walls!

    Packable and durable

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've been using this for awhile now and it has been great. It is light and durable with the dynex material and it packs away almost to a point where you forget it is there. Whether you're using as a personal anchor or an extended rappel tether, it is well rounded and can do it all. Even with multi person rappels, it does the job.

My First Personal Anchor, and its Rad!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

For years I have always built my personal anchors using a pair of slings with lockers on them, and for the first time I have decided to try a Personal Anchor system. I picked this one because it is rated just as high as the Metolius Personal Anchor System, but it is far less bulky. The dynex that they use on the BD version is a little bit thinner, and flexes easier so that you don't even notice it on your harness. I don't think I will be going back to normal slings.
