    Tech meets alpine.

Black Diamond's Fritschi Diamir Vipec 12 TUV Binding w/ Brake is the first ski tour binding to combine a tech binding with the safety release of an alpine binding. This unique design blends the tech binding's ease-of-use with the alpine binding's safe release in avalanche terrain. Now TUV certified for safety, this binding features Black Diamond's Safety Tech System that uses a gliding heel piece and safety pin to release your boot from the binding when your ski flexes heavily.

The Vipec's tech toe features Black Diamond's Easy Switch that allows you to move from walk to ski modes without stepping out of the binding. There's a three-level heel riser to climb flat, steep, and steeper terrain with ease. The micro-adjustable width wings accommodate any ski boot with tech inserts. Black Diamond included brakes so your skis don't slide down the entire mountain after yard sales.

    Solid and light

My first set was stolen, Rrrr!, but with a few tours on them and reconsidering all other options I am buying them again. I'm 6'1, 185, coming from a NTN freeride tele set up. I double ejected on a medium drop to a pretty deep and slightly rocky landing but the din was set at 8 by the shop. I re-looked at the Beast's and frame bindings and ultimately decided dialing up the din's and maybe making better choices, or landings :-) is preferred to the negatives of the others. Mainly lack of flat touring mode in the Beast 14, ease of transitions and rickety clacks of the frame bindings. Weight savings is just a nice bonus.

      Perfect addition

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I bought these for my wife as part of a new touring package. Initially, they are extremely lightweight. Easy to get in and out of, which can sometimes be an issue with the new minimalist binding. I know she and I both, are excited to put these through the paces.

      Hi there,
Will these bindings work with La Sportiva Spectre boots?
