Why We Like The Black Diamond Distance Carbon Z Poles
Whether we're fastpacking or ultrarunning, Black Diamond's Distance Carbon Z Poles support us on the ups and downs without weighting our arm swing. The slimmed down construction drops grams, not strength, to feel like air in our hands as we race across peaks, while the foldable design tucks away neatly on the straightaways.

Perfect
These poles are so light and so easy to pack and deploy, they really are perfect. I love the new ladies edition with slightly smaller grip. I had the original (now the men’s version) with the adjustable height. Still love those, but these have a larger button to release the poles and stow them, which makes it much easier to do, even with gloves. I also like the snow baskets that came with them, which my originals did not have. Great when trekking over spring trails with patches of snow left. I would give these six stars if I could. Light, easy, compact, strong and stable with great ergonomics.

Reliable, light weight and packable
There are awesome poles. I am 5'7" tall and went with a little shorter, 110 cm than recommended. Perfect for all hiking. The strap adjustments take a little getting used to. Easy to fold and store. The color is a nice bonus for something fun.

lightweight and packable
love em so far, I'm enjoying how easy they are to put together. I mostly upgraded my poles so I could fit them on a carry-on type flight situation and overall they fold up pretty small compared to traditional style trekking poles.

Trail tested in Zion
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Distance runner here and totally unfamiliar with poles until these. I LOVE them! I brought them to Zion last week and used them for the first time on West Rim trail and then on a few trails after that. They were so lightweight that I didn’t mind them in my vest when I wasn’t using them, but sturdy enough to support me through the snow and mud when I got high enough to encounter those conditions. I was even asked about them a few times on the shuttles during the week due to how small they fold up. I know these are a bit pricey, but they are totally worth the money especially if you are one to log lots of miles with slippery conditions or significant vert.

The straps don't seem to be replaceable?
My older versions of the Distance Carbon Z poles had straps and tips which were easily replaceable. I had a deer chew through my straps on my new pair and unfortunately I've just realized that these straps are not replaceable! What terrible design! I've always loved these poles in the past, but this is a terrible design choice. Very dissatisfied.

The best poles!
I’m an avid hiker/backpacker and these are the best poles I have so far. I love that they are so light and compact! Bonus they come in my favorite color!

Best poles for women for trail running
I love my new poles. They are so much more light weight that I thought and the colour looks very good.

Perfectly sized!
I was so happy to see a woman's version of this Carbon Z. I have had 2 sets of the men's version but they don't come in 115cm. When I saw these came in 115, and they are a beautiful color, I had to try them. They are so light and easier to fold than my old ones (better button). Now my poles won't get confused with all the other (male) Carbo Z's when I have to leave them outside a hut!
