Why We Like The Cirque Shell Jacket
The Black Diamond Cirque Shell Jacket is a technical softshell that we grab for alpine climbing and trekking in mild climates with a constant chance for rainfall. Unlike most shells, the Cirque's fabric has a four-way stretch to ensure we have full mobility on the mountain. Black Diamond treated the fabric with DWR to withstand moisture by beading raindrops right off the surface. The hood is compatible with climbing helmets, and all the pockets are accessible even with a harness on.

Just get it!!!
Used shell in rain and light snow for hikes and everyday use. Stretchy material and seems like it would hold up rock or alpine climbing. The length is a little long in the arms but not a huge concern for me.

Great looking jacket, but ...
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- medium
- Height:
- 5' 11"
- Weight:
- 160
Love the looks of this jacket, but the cut is so very slim - and this is coming from a guy that is 5'11" and 160 lbs. I can usually wear a medium in most brands, but I can barely zip this one all the way up. And the sleeves are so tight there would be no way to layer this jacket over anything except a short sleeve tee shirt. Would have given it a 4 or 5 star - but sizing is off big-time. I will try a large, but its been over 30 days and now the black large is not in stock - bummer - I'll give it to my teenage son.

Great fit, love the stretch, love the color. BEST jacket ever for climbing, snow activities and allows for layering.

Hoodless option
Nice jacket. The hood is not too intrusive but I would like a similar jacket without a hood - most have hoods now-a-days.

Great breathable jacket
I purchased this Jacket for skiing on dry days at the resort. It was very breathable and kept my comfortable all day!! I highly recommend this jacket if you tend to warm quickly and sweat.

Runs slim

Gave it 3 stars because this was a really nice looking jacket, however the size chart was way off and the jacket was way too small. VERY slim fit. The Men?s small barely zipped on my skinny teenager. No room for layers. Returned before wearing.
