Lean, functional, well-designed

The ski vest is perfect for half day tours. Water, snacks and skins are all stowable within reach. If you have jacket skin pockets the. You can stow extra gloves and the like to reduce breaks & keep moving. Very nimble going downhill and the ski carry is stable thanks to the secure fit of the vest. All in all a thoughtfully designed pack that offers an impressive combination of value, functionality and performance.

Overall great Fast and Light Backcountry Pack

Overall I really like the organization of this pack compared to a typical ski pack. The Avy tool pockets work well, but one side is almost uselessly short. Not really sure what it's for honestly. I just stuck my first aid kit in there to have it easy access. The Skin pocket could be a bit bigger to accomadate splitboard skins and larger ski skins, but it's still nice to have an easy access pocket for a water bottle, snacks, jacket, etc. Same thing with the Ski Carry, it barely fits my Splitboard but all I have to do is get a longer sling. The Pockets up front seem pretty durable, but they don't have the best hold on things. They could be tighter and stretchier at the same time to hold onto little things better. I wouldn't put anything terribly important in the lower open ones. And I could always use more easy access pockets personally, but maybe that's just me. The fit is pretty good, I like the adjustments and I think the Small size fits well for a pretty skinny tall guy like me. I think the straps could be more padded and comfortable, but I haven't gotten out on a super long day yet to really test the limits of this. Overall I think this is a pretty major step forward in Ski Pack Design, but could certainly use some improvements as mentioned above. Just the pack itself is almost 2 pounds lighter than my old Osprey pack, and it forces me to be more conscientious about what I'm packing which lowers the weight on my back even more. Really excited to use this pack a lot, and we'll see how it holds up with a lot of abuse.

5 Stars for a version that isn't a ski vest

Great features and size for a fast and light mission. It meets a lot of the criteria for me when i'm going skimo. This pack, while it checks all the boxes for a skimo racer heading out on a training mission or a comp, it misses the mark for a lot of other activities. My recommendation would be to have a version of this pack with minimalist pack strap, and waist belt design without all the pockets and bells and whistles hanging around up front. This pack serves a niche audience now but could have a cult following.

Using as a Ski Patrol pack

I wanted something lighter, simpler, and right-sized for a pack where I wouldn't need to carry avalanche tools while working. It's big enough to carry the stuff I need, as well as lunch while going up the mountain in the morning. I appreciate that the ski-carry loops are removable and can be switched from side to side. The front pockets are great to carry frequently-accessed items to minimize the need to take off the pack. I have the Distance 8L pack and really like the vest-style pack. It works just as well in this version, while being beefier to stand up to a bigger load. The internal avy-gear pockets provide welcome organization for first-aid gear, and the internally dividable, externally accessible crampon pocket is terrific for the spikes and harness I need to carry. Cons are a lack of external attachment points and routing for a water bladder. A lighter interior would also be appreciated, as it would make finding things quicker. But all-in-all it's exactly what I was hoping for.

Nice vest/pack

This is exactly what I have been craving. A great size between a vest and a backpack. I loaded it up for a multi-hour skate ski and it felt great. Also, super quick to get on/off with a simple ski attachment. Looking forward to using this for some long races and tours this spring!

Great bag, minor quality issues

It’s my favorite backpack I’ve used so far. Lightweight, comfortable, looks good, and does everything you need it to. The front pockets are very useful and the vest fits better than a traditional backpack. However the handle on top seems to be ripping out of the seam on one side. A friend who also has the same bag, has the same issue. But the handle on theirs has completely ripped off on one side. It’s a bit frustrating for how expensive the bag is. Was hoping to get at least a year out of it before anything broke. Overall it’s a great bag other than the quality issue my friend and I have experienced.

Perfect Ski pack for quick outing

Love this pack and its features. The bottom access to the lower compartment is ideal for quick access to a water bottle or DSLR camera. The upper section is enough to hold your avi gear and a puffy. I’ve thrown my entire ski set (jacket/bibs) in there and skied in shorts. It would be nice if it was about 25-27L or to have a little extra space. It does not seem to be very good for holding a shovel. It’s awkward and hard to got around it but does work, just don’t love it. The ski loop is amazing for throwing skis over your shoulder without having to take the pack off, for a quick boot pack.

Great objective pack

More storage than I need for a day objective. A little large for a skimo race.
