Move Without Thinking.
Even hitting the trail at 4:30am doesn’t guarantee that you’ll be back at the car before the wind starts howling and the fog rolls in, which is why you started your day by pulling on Black Diamonds Alpine Light Men’s Pant. It’s a trouser designed to make short work of techy ridge scrambles high-speed hikes thanks to a carefully curated collection of weather-defeating features and enough stretch to let you move like a mountain goat.

I had backcountry send me 8 pairs of softshell pants from various companies to replace my discontinued Mammut Fiamma pants. These and the BD Alpine pants are what I bought.
I wear these for everything. Hiking, golf, work, climbing gym... you name it.
These are very light soft shell type pants. They are very flexible, highly breathable and extremely comfortable. I wish they had a zippered pocket like their Alpine brother, but never-the-less they are very good. The price is also great compared to other companies.
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size

These pants are my go to hiking and backpacking pants for the summer months here in Utah. I usually don't hike in shorts mainly because I don't like when my legs get cut up from brushing up against shrubs. During the summer months these guys are perfect because they breath incredibly well. They are also a little stretchy so they move with you rather than hindering you. I also love the ladder lock system on the waist. Especially when carrying a pack the ladder lock ensures that the pants fit well even after a few days of stretch during use. My only recommendation is to be aware of the sizing the do run a bit on the smaller size. Also since the material is so thin be careful around sharp rocks. Although I have not gotten any holes in them yet the fabric is definitely beginning to show wear from a trip down some slot canyons.
Sharp enough to wear to the office, stretchable enough to hit the gym with, and then head to the wilderness.
Do they offer these in a 32 length. I have a 29-30 waste but am 6’ 1”
They do have a 32in inseam. If you have any other questions reach out to me at firstname.lastname@example.org
