9.4 Climbing Rope

The 9.4 Climbing Rope is Black Diamond's skinniest line that's certified solely for for single use. It's a balance between lightness and durability that advanced climbers look for whether they're projecting sport or trad. Its 9.4mm diameter is at once supple and strong to slide through carabiners without much rope drag and still take a surprising amount of falls. Since it sits on the skinnier side, this rope is a great option for the occasional alpine approach as long as the rocks are dry.

  • Climbing rope balances lightweight with durability for projects
  • 9.4mm is supple and strong to reduce rope drag and take the fall
  • Middle mark makes it easier to set up safe rappels

Middle mark disappeared after 1 season

I've put it through the wringer

True to size

Great rope. Middle mark gone in 1 season. Slippery rope and easy to rack/clip with.

Get what you pay for......

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Was just looking for a cheap beater rope.... and that's what I got. Barely survived 6 months before it needed to be cut. Other than durability issues, it handles well and has a soft catch.

Nice 80m rope

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Got this to link pitches. Lightweight for 80m and clipping is super smooth. Bees tend to be attracted to it (the color), but I'm super chill with that. Bees!

Honest Rope at an Honest Price

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

The old BD 9.2 & 9.6 sucked. This is not those ropes. I bought the 80m to use in the desert to avoid two rope shenanigans on long single pitch routes. This is one of the best priced 80m ropes on the market and is a big part of why I picked it up. This rope has a nice blend of good handling, but burly enough to stand up to the use in the desert.

fantastic rope

very lightweight, I ordered the 80m version and was still surprised to see that is was very light.
