Dream Island Double Sleeping Bag

Like bringing your own bed with you into the great outdoors, the Dream Island Double Sleeping Bag is the roomiest double-wide bag available from Big Agnes, offering enough space for couples on the taller side to stretch out without anyone taking up more than their side of the bed. This freedom to move is further opened up by the stretch side panels that accommodate sleeping pads of varying sizes. The nylon taffeta construction with a DWR finish helps shed condensation that might build up in the tent, and toasty FireLine Max insulation gives this bag a level of comfort that rivals your favorite comforter at home.

A snap closure between hoods keeps warm air from escaping or cold air from intruding when you shift sleeping positions, or when reaching over to grab your headlamp. On each side of the snap enclosure, a cinch hood draws the Pillow Barn in to further prevent unwelcome cold air while simultaneously keeping your pillow firmly in place for a perfect night's sleep. And oh, how you'll get the perfect night's sleep. The warm cotton liner helps keep things even cozier in the cold, and when things warm up, just unzip the top layer to create a comforter that you can take out of the tent for watching shooting stars on late summer nights.

  • Big Agnes' roomiest double-wide sleeping bag for two people
  • Durable shell fabric sheds moisture and withstands abrasion
  • Synthetic insulation traps precious body heat in cold temps
  • Draft tube prevents cold gusts from sneaking in
  • Pillow Barn keeps pillow in place for all-night comfort
  • 15-degree rating perfect for cold winter nights
  • Flex Pad Sleeve secures liner to sleeping bag
  • Inspired by the Rockies, designed in Steamboat Springs
  • Item #BAG00F8

Great bag for couples, one suggestion

I've used it several times
True to size

The Dream Island double sleeping bag used in conjunction with Big Agnes double sleeping pad is super comfy. My wife and I have backpacked and car camped with this setup and enjoyed great nights sleeping. Being a double, the bag is pretty heavy/large so I'd recommend getting an XL stuff sack that can be pushed down to make the bag smaller. The two it comes with are nice for storage but not for putting in your pack. The bag comes with a slit to put your pillow in so it doesn't move which is a nice feature. We're definitely going to be taking this on more trips soon.

I like the idea, but not the execution

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Its is certainly big and gives you space to starfish, but the materials are not super comfortable. I know it's not supposed to be on the level of a down fill bag, but the synthetic fill is more like a teenage boy's comforter than a cozy sleeping bag. Sleeping bag temp ratings are always subject to interpretation, but I would put this closer to a 30 deg bag, it certainly wasn't warm, even with 2 people on a 35-40 deg colorado late summer night. Overall, it will be a good car camping bag for a summer trip, maybe wash it once or twice with some fabric softener to bump up the comfy level. In hindsight, I would probably lean toward going with the higher end model from BA if you want a double bag.

Cuddle Bugs

I've used it several times

Cuddle bugs listen up! I had the most dreamy, cozy night snuggling my boyf under the stars in this sucker. Plenty of room for both a big and little spoon. Worried about keeping that noggin warm? Don't worry because this baby has individual hoods that kept our heads warm all night. Stop thinking twice and buy it now.

Like your own bed in the backcountry! Our Doublewide Series eliminates the need to zip two bags together so there’s nothing keeping you apart from your cuddle bug in your tent, van, or wherever you need a super comfy bed. The much improved Dream Island 15 is insulated with FireLine™ Max synthetic; a 50% post-consumer recycled insulation with blended fibers that maximize a warm sleep experience. The Flex Pad Sleeve on the bottom makes connecting two pads or stretching around a doublewide pad easier and fast than ever while still allowing the soft shell fabric on top and cozy cotton/poly lining inside to drape like the comforter on your bed. So snuggle in for the night, this might be your best night's rest under the stars.

What is the double-pad used in the video?

Does this bag have insulation under the sleeper or is it like the old BA bags that relied on the sleeping pad to insulate underneath the sleeper?

What volume bag would I need to store this?
