The trifecta of style, safety, and ventilation.

Taking styling cues from its low-profile, street-savvy design, the Bern Allston Helmet with Flip Visor caters to daily commuters and bike messengers battling urban gridlock and stifling heat. Sculpted with 16 large vents, the Allston prevents overheating in the oppressive heat and humidity of summer. Going one step further for comfort, the performance liner wicks moisture for a cool-wearing feel.

Say goodbye to the bulky, egg-shaped designs of older helmets. Bern's Zipmold+ Technology gives the Allston a lighter, thinner, and lower profile fit, yet it yields a higher strength-to-weight ratio than traditional in-mold helmets. Adding more functionality, the Original Flip Visor acts as a customizable shield. Block oncoming rain and blinding sunshine with the visor lowered, or conversely, flip it up at busy intersections to maximize visibility. The customization doesn't end there, thanks to a micro-adjustable rear dial. Quickly spin this dial to achieve a secure fit without excess slop or movement at high speeds.

    Great All Around Helmet

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great helmet for cruising around town on your bike! Huge vents allow great circulation. The visor flips down if you need to shade your eyes from the sun or keep the rain out. Unfortunate that Bern doesn't have MIPs technology yet, but still really like the helmet!

    Ice Ice Baby.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

    Now STOP! Ventilate and listen,
Bern is back with a brand new invention
A fresh helmet with Boa fits lightly,
I wear it biking daily and nightly
Will it ever stop? Yo, I don't know
Flip up the visor and I'll glow
To the extreme, I rock a bike like a vandal
Lightweight, low-pro, so cool it makes a scandal.

.... So now you know I'm cool enough to freestyle to Vanilla Ice beats, you'll be glad to know this helmet protects my wildly creative mind and doesn't make me look like a dweeb.... Wait.

    Ventilation Nation!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have never worn a bike helmet, which makes me a dumb dumb. I'm much less dumb and way more inclined to wear my helmet after picking up this beauty!

Super lightweight for starters, after a few minutes of riding I forget I have it on. The best helmet is the one you forget you are wearing. The biggest selling point was all the giant vents, and boy oh boy do they work! I run very warm and am what you may call 'a sweaty guy' this thing really lets the airflow through to help combat that.

As the other review notes it does run small so if you are on the edge of sizes definitely go up. Super nice boa adjustment to help dial in your perfect fit. Sits down nicely on your head so you dont look like a mushroom as well. flip visor in the up position for extra hip style points, or down for functional sun blocking. Fits well with sunglasses, no pressure points.

nice one, but terrible size chart

my head circumference is about 58cm, can't fit in L/XL which is clamed to be fit for 57-60.5cm... sosad, now I'm thinking about should I send it back for exchange or sell it to someone else :(
