Long routes often demand flexible descent options, and the Escaper from Beal allows us to rappel on a single strand while still retrieving our rope. Its textile design keeps weight down and packs easily into small pockets, making it practical for alpine missions, complex ridge traverses, or multi-pitch climbs where carrying a second rope adds more burden than security. Once set, the system grips confidently during the rappel and releases only after repeated, intentional unloading at the base.
