Brilliant Idea Ruined by Execution Error

The overall design of this shirt is delightful and quite unique as far as I can tell. The 4 pockets on the front have a nice workwear aesthetic while providing a lot of functionality. I haven't seen any other similar shirts with hand pockets like this. I also really liked that the buttons were attached with fabric instead of thread. It makes it a little easier to operate them, and I suspect it might be more durable. The fabric seems sturdy with just a touch of stretch. The problem is the neck sizing is comically large. I measured the size large to make sure- and it was a 20.5 inches. For comparison, I pulled out another shirt I have in a similar style, and it was 18 inches. This additional fabric makes it look like you're a child wearing your father's dress shirt when worn any way but fully unbuttoned. I love the conception of this shirt, but this single flaw ruined it for me.

Nice quality, odd fit, color mismatch

The material seems to be a nice durable corduroy, with a good feel, and the stitching seems of good quality. The pockets are great, although the right chest pocket has basically an arm pit entry that will do a great job of holding its contents securely without a zipper, but is a little awkward to use. The buttons are attached with ribbon instead of thread. It seems like they will be more secure and durable. The sleeves are oddly tight around the forearm and elbow, but loose at the cuff. The sleeve length and fit for the body of the shirt are exactly what I would expect for a shop shirt. I don’t have unusually big arms, more has this ever been an issue with other shirts. The shirt is more orange than red, unlike the picture. If both chest pockets were like the left one, the arm fit was more loose, and the color matched, it would be five stars in my book.
