    Shrunk! Returned.

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Wonderful functional pants, but pants lost significant length after first wash, despite following care instructions. I ended up returning for a refund. How about constructing pants using a pre shrunk fabric? I notice that I am the second reviewer to have this issue.

Love them, but they shrank in length

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I really like these pants. I wear them all the time around the house and on a couple ski trips. They fit super great new, but after first wash they lost about an inch to inch and a half in length. They're a tad short on me now so that's a little disappointing, but I'll still continue to rock them I think. Comfortable feel and nice and warm.

    Great for everything

I wear these for lounging, as a base under ski pants on really cold days, running in cold weather, etc. They're amazingly comfortable and extremely practical. The pockets are great on them.

    Great Design and Awesome Quality

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I bought these for my partner, who is usually NOT a sweatpant person. I know this sounds impossible, because who doesn't love sweatpants, but this is the person I married. Then came the Timpanogos sweatpant. He basically has been living in these things since they arrived. The tapered ankle gives the whole pant a "jogger" look that is sleeker than other sweatpants. Additionally, he says they are more windproof and made of a more technical fabric that really appeals to him both aesthetically as well as warmth-wise. Lastly, he LOVES the zippered pockets, both in the back and the front, as he knows that his wallet will be safe when he pops over to the store while wearing these. We're considering buying another pair so he can always have one clean pair.

    Rad Pants!

I was looking for some warm fleece pants that I could wear under my shell pants while skiing but at the same time run to the grocery store without looking out of place. Perfect weight material as they aren't too heavy and thick but at the same time they provide some good warmth and wind resistance. The material is fleecy on the inside and then smooth and woven on the outside so sliding into ski pants is easy. The pockets are the icing on the cake, all of them are zippered so if you take a tumble while skiing your goodies don't go flying. The leg is tapered, but not restricting and the bottom cuff is plenty stretchy to slide up your calf when you have ski boots on. While the price is a little steep, I think that the added features make this more than just another fleece pant!

    Solid jogger

These are solid joggers in a really nice fleece material. They are warm, stylish and fit in that perfect not-too-skinny and not-too-baggy way. The pocket and knee details are nice touches and keep these joggers interesting

    Super Comfortable and great fit

These pants are comfortable and going to become a staple of my lazy Sunday wardrobe! They're functional enough to wear underneath my ski pants at the resort, or lazy enough to wear them all Saturday long while not leaving the couch.

Let me start this saying at the time I'm the only independent review currently for these sweatpants. I have hiked, jogged, lifted and just about everything else in these so far so I feel confident now giving an accurate review. I wish backcountry had a cheaper lounge version because they know how to do warmth, comfort and convenience.

IMPORTANT, the retention system for the waist is the best that I have seen on any sweatpants and I think it should be industry standard. Honestly, its pretty good.

Pros- The other reviews were right, the pockets are amazing and deep and these sweatpants are very very comfortable and warm when running outside. The zippers are very nice and convenient, especially having a butt pocket for guys that don't like to keep their wallet anywhere else and worry about it slipping out in normal sweats. I can easily run outside in these in 30 degree weather without an under layer or thermals on. These are pretty resistant to stains as I have had dirt and hot wing sauce on them and both came out just fine and I have fallen in these SEVERAL times and they haven't torn or shown wear yet either. They are breathable yet warm enough for long runs and the fit is perfect for people with runners or bikers legs, they have ample room for us people with larger legs but not so much room that they are baggy.

Cons- They aren't tighter around the ankles like other joggers would be for a tighter fit and I have mixed reviews on that part as it allows you to fit larger and thicker socks underneath but it's also a bit looser than you would need for that. Also, I wish the zippers were opposite the way they were as in they close when you zip them down and open them when you sip up as this would make it more convenient when jogging and climbing as it makes it slightly easier in my opinion. Also you might be thinking these are a little nit picky however for $80-100 I get to be since this is some serious cash for these pants.

Vs the competition- Other competitors have zippers, comfort, warmth and every other feature that this has HOWEVER none of them have it all in one pant like this that gives this the edge.

Comfort- 8/10 Pretty comfortable, but not THE MOST comfortable sweatpants I have ever worn
Cost- 7.5/10 this is my biggest gripe as its hard to justify these as $80 sweats, let alone $100. I get it and I have been the biggest advocator of you get what you pay for however this is less cost effective than some other sweatpants.
Practicality- 10/10 Between the zippers, flexibility, warmth and comfort these are great for any activity you throw at them.
Durability- 10/10 I gave it a 10 because I've tested these to some degree with trips, falls and stains but the biggest reason I gave these a 10 is because I know that if anything goes wrong with these and its a quality or durability problem Backcountry is 100% willing to put their money where their mouth is and the customer service backs this up.
Value- 8/10 Its hard to recommend these at $100 but slightly easier at 80 which would undercut many others in this space on price to performance and features.

Conclusion- If you are going to use these strictly as lounge pants and the occasional trip to the store it's hard to recommend these for that demographic. You can find other comfortable sweatpants with zippers even tho they won't be this quality level you aren't using what makes these expensive and great sweatpants. However, if you are active and plan to actually USE these as athletic sweatpants I think these are one of if not the best on the market for $80 and arguably for $100. Will be getting more of these if they stay at $80.

Quick/Final words- If you are athletic or outdoors/mobile a lot these are a buy however if you are looking for lounge pants let me point you to these -https://www.backcountry.com/under-armour-armour-fleece-jogger-pant-mens?skid=UND02FZ-STELTHEA-L&ti=UExQIENhdDpNZW4ncyBTd2VhdHBhbnRzOjI6NTpiYy1tZW5zLXN3ZWF0cGFudHM=

    pockets are amazing

Don't you hate it when you're lounging and your phone slips out of your pocket because it doesnt have a zipper? Yeah, me too. You will no longer have that issue with these. These pants are perfect for lounging, traveling and any other casual activities.

      Super Comfy!

I have only used these a few time and have not been active in the. They are super comfortable and I love all the zippered pockets.
