Why We Built The Backcountry Destination Pant
To stay comfortable and protected on rugged warm-weather treks, we pull on our Backcountry Destination Pant. The summery fabric wicks away sweat and dries off quick, keeping us cool when gaining vert. Through overreaching brush and spotty drizzles, the ankle-length design and treated fibers keep our skin scratch free and dry, while our small essentials ride along bounce free in the streamlined waistband pockets, letting us carry nothing but a water bottle.

Uncomfortable waistband
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
Almost kept these but decided not to. The waistband felt nice over the stomach after putting the pants on and while standing, but the bottom hem would cut into my stomach uncomfortably while bending or sitting. Minor complaint about the pockets--they bunch and flare out a bit if kept unzipped, which was unflattering. I appreciated the high waist as someone with a long torso, and they were stretchy but only felt nice while standing.

Almost Perfect

The description says these run large, so size down. I would not do that. These came in fitting true to size. I like the flexibility of the pants, however there is no drawstring so keep that in mind!

I thought these would be great for fall hikes, but am returning them because of the odd fit. They are very tight in the waist, but loose around the legs. The fabric is thin and not very stretchy. I’m a fan of the fleece-lined pants and was hoping they’d fit the same. Alas.

Weird proportions

These pants are made for stick legs. I tried in store and if the waist would fit they would be extremely tight on my calves. Waist is bunchy as others have pointed out. Otherwise the material is great for hiking. Wouldn’t recommend to stand up to rock. Still looking for a worthy successor to the Double Dyno pants you guys had a couple years ago.

The material and look of this pant is great and I can imagine traveling and hiking in them often, but I couldn't get over the awkward fit. The waist is absurdly high with a shape that you would expect of a midrise pant, putting extra fabric around the lower stomach that doesn't flatter. Please remake in a different cut! So close..

Awkward fit

Not sure if this is supposed to be super high waisted or have an awkwardly low crotch, very unflattering fit & construction. 3 back pockets was a good idea, except the material is already very loose (just received never washed/worn) and would not trust it to keep anything secure while walking/hiking. I ordered size small, 5’1” 120-125 lbs. I second the reviews that say big?, because the waist and length fit fine but there seems to be extra material in weird places. Thus the awkward construction. I much prefer my Mountain Hardware Dynama pants, if Backcountry could mirror that fit but use their materials I would be sold. Do not recommend, especially for the $55 + price tag. I expected better.

Big?
They seemed big and just kind of a weird shape on me. However, I did a 6 hour hike in them and they were actually really comfortable.

Cute but runs big

Bought a size small (5'7'' 130lb) and it was too big. Returning for XS- The blue is pretty! The fabric is thinner than it looks around the waistband, not a thick tight waistband that holds everything in place (which I assumed it was by the pic).

Brown Color not as pretty in person
- Familiarity:

The cut and fabric of these pants is great, but the brown color is not the deep, saturated hue as shown in the pic, it's kinda blah.
