    Simple Yet Impressive

    Familiarity:
    I've used it several times
    Fit:
    True to size
    Size Bought
    Medium
    Height
    6` 1"
    Weight
    170 lbs

This seems like a simple product but I was pretty impressed. It's a good weight that's not a sweater but thicker than many long sleeves I have, the cut/fit is spot on average, and the green is a great color. Logos are not obtrusive and the wool blend (minimal wool, but still) should help with odor. I'm tall and thin and the shirt could be a little longer in the body and arms (as most shirts like this could be) but it had a good average to slim fit in the body that I liked - I do have room to layer this over a t-shirt.

Perfect other than the fit (for me)

I returned this product before using it

I'll start by saying I returned this item, but not due to disliking it in any way. Sadly, for me, I am right in between size on the backcountry size chart (chest and waist literally right between M and L), and on top of that I have kind of short arms. For other backcountry products I'd order a M and L and see which fit better (usually medium but that was in Wolverine Cirque Insulated Jacket). I loved the look of the shirt in the photos online and the colors are true to the pictures (I ordered both), and it did not disappoint in person. Great feel to the fabric, very soft and warm. I was hoping to use this product as a midlayer (over a t-shirt) or loose fitting stand alone base layer for outdoor pursuits. The fit was the only thing that wasn't perfect (for me). Medium was snugger than I was hoping for (couldn't fit a t-shirt comfortably under it) and the arms were a tad long for me but would suffice. I then ordered the large hoping that would be a better fit but it felt like I was swimming in it (decent gap between the two sizes), and the sleeves were much longer than I was hoping for.

I really enjoy how this sweater feels- it's extremely soft and surprisingly warm despite being somewhat thin. I bought the pavement color, which is a little darker than shown in the image, but I like that. Gave this 4 stars because of some minor pilling taking place after one month.

    93% Polyester

I bought this shirt because the lwebpage lists the materials as "Wool, Polyester". However, this shirt is made from 93% polyester (per the label) in china. I retuned immediately without trying it on as I was looking for a wool garment.

Hey Senthil, Thanks for pointing out that we have it listed as wool, poly in the specs but poly-wool in the description. We are getting that updated to avoid more confusion. We do have a couple great baselayer tops made of merino wool. Check out the link below: https://www.backcountry.com/backcountry-spruces-merino-henley-mens

    Quite Warm

    Familiarity:
I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    Fit:
    True to size

I bought this for my boyfriend and he absolutely loved it! Since it is a thermal it keeps him nice and warm and it is great for everyday wear or activities. It is pretty soft, and the Sepia color is great in person. The fit was true to size, and wasn't overly big.

This shirt feels and looks great with the raglan sleeves. Unfortunately the Sepia is a lot more brown than I thought and I did not end up liking how that looked in person

Is this at all similar to last year's Backcountry Grid Fleece Sweater?

Hi Matt, This thermal crew has a different fabric. For something closer to last years Grid Fleece Sweater, our Grid Fleece Crew is similar, however a lighter weight than last year's sweater. Best, Andy
