Lightweight and forgiving from day one, the Maven J w/ L6 GW Binding is built for new skiers ready to start
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying
"The Maven J with the L6 binding is a smart setup for a kid just getting into skiing. The Densolite Core keeps it light and manageable, and Bend-X flex means they're not fighting a ski that's too stiff for their size. The L6 GW has a higher DIN ceiling than the C5, so it has a little more room to grow as they get stronger. Just get it mounted by a tech and they're good to go."
Beginner to Intermediate Junior All-Mountain Skiers
The Maven J w/ L6 GW Binding is built for young skiers in their first seasons on snow, particularly those who are ready for a slightly higher DIN range as they develop strength and confidence. It suits kids building foundational technique on groomed terrain with a setup that keeps things light, forgiving, and uncomplicated.
Groomed All-Mountain Terrain
Designed for the groomed slopes where new skiers develop their fundamentals, the Maven J w/ L6 GW Binding keeps things predictable and manageable. The rocker-camber profile (10% tip rocker / 90% camber) lifts the tip for easy turn initiation while camber underfoot delivers stable contact with the snow. A flat tail and short turning radius keep the ride straightforward across beginner and intermediate terrain.
Lightweight Learner Build with Step-Up Bindings
The Maven J shares the same ski platform as the C5 version — Densolite Core, Dura Cap construction, Extruded Base, and a 1.3˚ base edge bevel — but pairs it with the L6 GW Binding, which covers a DIN range of 2–5.5 for skiers who need a bit more retention. Bend-X Technology keeps flex accessible for smaller bodies, and the low-maintenance Extruded Base is easy to keep running through a full season of learning. Bindings require mounting by a certified technician before use.

We Are Skiing
From the piste to the powder, distant backcountry peaks to local Nordic tracks, Atomic exists to drive skiing forward.

Phantom Glide By DPS Skis
This ski is compatible with Phantom Glide, the long-lasting base treatment from DPS Skis. Backcountry technicians apply and UV-cure it before the skis ship, so they arrive ready to ride with no waxing needed.
How It Works

Applied By Backcountry Techs
Backcountry technicians treat and UV-cure every pair in the shop before it leaves the warehouse, so the skis arrive ready to ride with no setup required.

Glide That Outlasts Wax
Wax sits on top of the base and wears off in a few days. Phantom Glide bonds into the base, so glide stays fast and consistent from cold powder to spring slush.

No More Wax Days
Phantom Glide replaces scraping, ironing, and shop visits with a quick base cleaning using the Phantom Glide Base Care Kit. The formula is made without PFAS.

Mounted And Ready To Go
When skis, bindings, and boots are purchased together, a Gearhead Expert mounts the bindings before the order ships.

Frequently Asked Questions
How should I choose a length for the Atomic Maven J Ski with L6 GW Binding?
Choose based on the junior skier’s height, weight, ability, and preferred maneuverability. A shorter length is generally easier for a lighter or less confident skier to control, while a longer length can suit a taller or more advanced skier.Where does the Atomic Maven J perform best?
This junior all-mountain ski is suited to groomed resort runs and occasional off-piste skiing. All Mountain Rocker helps smooth turn initiation, while camber underfoot supports grip and Bend-X Technology helps lighter skiers flex the ski into turns. How does the Atomic Maven J compare with other junior all-mountain skis?
The Maven J is designed to support progression, with a flex intended to be easier for lighter junior skiers to bend than a stiffer-feeling ski. Its rocker and camber combination balances approachable turning with grip on groomed terrain.Which boots work with the included L 6 GW binding, and how should it be set up?
The included L 6 GW binding is intended for compatible junior alpine boots with GripWalk soles; alpine touring boots and bindings are not automatically interchangeable. Have a ski technician mount and adjust the binding for the skier’s boots and skiing profile. How should I care for the Atomic Maven J skis and bindings?
Dry the skis and binding hardware after each day, paying particular attention to the edges, and store them indoors in a cool, dry place. Wax the base as needed, inspect the edges regularly, and arrange periodic binding and edge service with a ski technician.
