Amphibious and Adept.
You'll stay upright and cruising as you navigate shallow waters and muddy treks with the tetrapod-inspired Astral Men's Tr1 Trek Water Shoe. The Tr1 Trek Water Shoe features a hydrophobic canvas upper that transitions between paddling or mellow hikes, while the TPU overlays provide added defense from rocky outcrops or errant roots. A removable insole allows you to customize your support, and it also features a Polygiene treatment to keep those post-play funks at bay. The EVA midsole attenuates shock for day-long support, and the Top Shank helps reduce foot fatigue. Not to mention, the G.15 outsole has 5mm lugs for traction when you need it most.

Astral TR1 Trek for Men
A great trail shoe from Astral - great in the water too!!

The metal hardware for the eyelets digs into the top of my foot even with socks. As paddle shoes I feel like these need to be comfortable while barefoot, which is just not possible. That being said I did a some patented gear hacking and they are now perfect: lightweight, comfortable, quick-drying and excellent as even light-hikers. Go with one of the models with standard tennis-shoe eyelets and you will love them.
Exceeded my expectations by far
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size

Astral is somewhat of a new brand and I didn't know much about them. After doing a little research I decided to give them a try.
My first impression of them was that they would not be a great shoe for hiking or wearing for long periods of time since they felt somewhat stiff... boy was I wrong.
My First trek out i wore them on a 5 mile hike that had a few river crossings. Feet got soaked and much to my surprise (I was doubtful) The water drained out and my feet weren't water logged and soggy. The materials that they made these shoes out of did the job and did the job well.
The comfort of these shoes was surprisingly great! I didn't get any blisters, They broke in relatively easy and feel great on your feet. Also they're pretty light weight. I really dig these and they're my go to if i'm hiking anywhere that's gonna be wet.
Also they haven't made my feet stink like most water worthy shoes do. I liked that feature the most.
