Support for Overpronators.
Whether you're training for a marathon or simply enjoy the solitude and quiet of a 15-mile run, the Asics Men's GT-2000 5 Running Shoe ensures that you're able to go the distance. Designed specifically for long runs (think 10 miles and up), the GT-2000 5 touts a 10mm drop for moderate cushion underfoot and provides support for runners who overpronate, but don't want to forgo comfort in favor of stability or vice versa.
The GT-2000 5 has been updated to include a new ComforDry sockliner and last that wicks away moisture and dries quickly to assure that you stay comfortable, no matter what mile you're on. The updated version is equipped with a new midfoot system for better support during overpronation, while the new Heel Clutching System locks down your heel for a snug, secure fit that prevents heel lift and consequential discomfort. In keeping with the original design, the GT-2000 5 features multiple midsole technologies to keep you coming back, mile after mile and step after step. The Impact Guidance System enhances your natural gait, and the Dynamic DuoMax support system delivers lightweight platform support. Meanwhile, the FluidRide midsole attenuates shock and provides energy propulsion throughout your transitions, and the rear and forefoot Gel Cushioning System bolster shock absorption throughout the toe-off and heel strike phases

- Q & A
Great running shoe
This has been my girlfriends go to running shoe for several years now. I picked her up another pair for Christmas this year. She loves the fit (she's 6ft tall so she often buys men's running shoes over women's) and support. I think this is her 4th or 5th pair which really says something. Seems to be a mid point between the minimal shoes and the super supports that are out now.
Straight Forward and Comfortable
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I am not built for a minmalist style running shoe, but don't like the bulk and look of many of the stability shoes on the market. These are the perfect balance between giving me the support I need, while also having a bit more of a streamlined design. Super comfy.
Go to for many years
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Height: 6'0"
- Weight: 165lbs
These shoes have been my road running shoes for many years now. I like that I know what I am getting and that the fit is consistent. I have narrow feet medium high arches.
Great walking shoe for dad
- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
- Fit: True to size
- Height: 5'11"
- Weight: 148lbs
Got these shoes for my dad and he loves them. Really good support and cushioning makes them great for the walks he goes on and helps with knee pain. He normally wears a 10.5 in all other shoes and the 10.5 for these shoes fits great as well.
