The mid-cut version of Altra's legendary Lone Peak, the Lone Peak All-Weather Mid 2 is made for winter trail runs and foul weather hikes. I Don't Recommend
I bought these boots at the end of May for backpacking in the Sierra. They fit my feet right out of the box but when laced the hooks at the ankle of both boots exert pressure that leads to pain. I wore them around the house to test before hiking in them but never felt the hooks. On the first hike the pressure turned to pain in about 3 miles. I've tried numerous combinations of loose lace, tight lace, skip a hook lace but nothing helped. I tried sock combinations with heavy socks, light socks, hiking socks combined with liner socks, nothing worked. I wanted to like these boots because I love the Altra Lone Peak running shoes but I can't recommend them.

I would not recommend this shoe
The shoe was true to size for me, no issues there. relatively water resistant. I wore the shoes for just shy of 2 months and the laces from one shoe caught the loop retainer of the other and tore it off. Apparently under their warranty it counts as normal wear and tear, no help from customer service. Just for your awareness. I wouldn't buy these again.

Not waterproof, not even a little
I've been walking around the Isle of Arran in these boots, which I bought specially for this trip. These boots fit my feet wonderfully. They have great traction. They are a joy, except for one thing. They aren't waterproof. Today, I had to walk through very wet grass. Within 10 seconds, my toes were wet. Within one minute, my feet were making squelching noises. I walked 11 more miles in totally wet boots. This was the 2nd time they got wet through the fabric of the boot (not deep water up by the laces). The first time it took two days to dry and I ended up walking in my running shoes. They got wet too, but they aren't supposed to be waterproof. I love the lone peak running shoes, and I would love these hikers in a dry place, but I am not loving them in Scotland. I really needed waterproof boots and these aren't it.

Fantastic fit, versatile boot.
Been wearing these boots for over a year, from light trail walks to hiking the Northeast and UT/AZ. My feet and ankles feel incredibly secure when wearing these. I'd recommend for anything < 8mi.

most comfotable hikers ever
I got to hike up Mount LeConte here in the smoky Mountians with these Lone Peak WP- very nice trip. The Lone Peaks were fun. Light, nimble, wish I had these my whole life. the tongue kept out debris well. Mine have held up well for a year now, mostly very light hikes and day hikes. I'd love to see a cleaner look- like some of your new shoes with the logo set back toward the heel- but they feel great. Sometimes, like all mid boots, i have to mess with t he tongue gusset to get it to sit right and not press on top of my foot. I didn't buy the previous version because the fabric made a popping sound as it creased and uncreased with every step- I couldn't handle it- but these didn't do that so I gave it a go and I think it's a great product, thanks.

Too small
Bought the same size as my previous lone peak and this model is too narrow. cuts across top and side of my foot when I walk (the area at knuckles of my toes / the beginning of the laces). That's the worst spot to be tight. Was about to take them for my first hike but they would cause pain in no time. Very disappointed.

Stay Away - Not Foot Shape Anymore
tl:dr Not foot shape anymore. Not Wide enough, Mid foot is tight. Spill over the sides. Material is different and feels thin/cheap, and not waterproof. Blue color were bigger in size than the Black. I have been a long time Atra fan and this shoe has changed for the worse. My love letter is for the the Lone Peak 4s as they were the best hiking shoes ever (R.I.P). I had 4 pairs. Each iteration of the Lone Peaks since has been getting worse. Please bring back the original foot shape, gaiter clips, original waterproof material, and stone guard.

I would not buy these.
Unfortunately, they leak in damp conditions. So, if you plan to hike in rain or snow, I would choose a different product. I've had these for about two years, and I've used them very little. They still have plenty of tread and life left but leak even in light dew on the ground in the morning.

I would buy this product again
I bought two pairs of these in the spring of 2023... used one pair used for training for the Portuguese Camino in September '23' and used the other pair (after break in) for the actual Camino walk. Walked over 400 miles using the same pair in one month and absolutely loved the boot. Never had any type of failure and the boot performed flawlessly. The boot is light weight, supportive and very comfortable. The terrain was varied but only rugged like back country Rocky Mountains in a few spots. The shoe adequately handled cobblestone streets too but there were times when I wished the sole had been a little stiffer. I normally wear a size 13 but bought 14 and they were just right. Love this boot...will buy again and would recommend for anyone contemplating distance walking.

Uppers began falling apart in less than 2 months
I bought these boots for a short winter trip to Colorado in January. I continued to use them daily when I returned home to the midwest and was very happy with the fit, look, and feel of the boots. However, by March the surface fabric of the uppers began to form holes in several different places where the front of the foot flexes. it is very noticeable and I would expect complete failure of the upper soon. It is a shame that poor quality material is ruining an otherwise great shoe.
