Too narrow, Altra needs to invest in more sizes
Bottom line: Altra, please go back to making this shoe in wide sizes, and please give options for the many folks with small but wide feet! I'm not alone when I say that folks want this shoe in wide and short-wide sizes too (7-8 wide!) I wear a 7.5 shoe normally, but had to get a half size up because altra doesn't make this shoe in 7.5. Even wearing a size 8, the lone peaks's rubber sole siding digs in to the side of my foot. As to whether I'd recommend it, it's hard. If you have healthy, narrow feet, you will like this shoe. If you have a wide foot or a small size, Altra has left you behind.

Fore foot pain after first run
I have used Lone Peak over the past few years and have enjoyed all the models expect the 8. My fore foot is sore after a few miles. Will order different shoe next time.

Best shoes ever
These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. My foot is now shaped the way nature intended. I bought the Lone Peak 6 a year ago, now I own the Lone Peak 8.

Too narrow and wearing out quickly
These are narrower then the 6 which I had bought two pair and not nearly as nice. Shoe laces are so thin I've already had to buy new ones and the top of the toes is wearing already. I've only had them for a month and I still have a two year old pair that I hiked 500 miles in and the tops didn't wear through. I've been wearing Altras since the company first started and have loved them until now. I'm trying other brands as these are too narrow and won't last the year at this rate.

Favorite Hiker
This is my 3rd pair and 3rd generation of Lone Peaks starting with the LP 4.5, the LP 6, and now the LP 8. From a consistency perspective this is Altra's most consistent model when it comes to fit, features, and overall feel. I've tried and owned other models/generations (Timp 3 thru 5; Superior 4 - 5, and the Montbell) and the variance between generations was always a crap shoot. The LP is the only Altra shoe I can buy and walk away knowing it will fit/feel relatively the same. I'm not a fan of the 'sheen' on LP 8 vs the 6, and color choices remain sketch hence the 4-star rating. The tread feels more aggressive/edgy than my LP 6 and slightly more durable based off the first 50-miles I've logged in them

Ugly, very ugly
I have been using Altra for a long time. I can't even remember when was the last time I used shoes from a different brand. This may be my last pair, now that there seems to be a growing 0mm competition. Why? The shoes are ugly. They look a bit like a random design rather than an effort to create something pleasing to the eye. Just got the Dusty Olive and it is nothing comparable to the images. In reality it is just a shiny green and orange mistake. And that is probably the best option this year for LP. I was very sad when I opened the box. I need a new pair and there's no other color option that could be better. Luckily, the monopoly is ending! Other than the looks, it is basically same as LP7, with minor changes to the upper. I reckon the durability will be as bad as that of LP7.

Sizing is larger than series 6
I have been a size 11.5 in these for the last few years. I ordered these recently and they felt more like size 12. I went with size 11 and they fit perfect although a little snugger than I would prefer. still a great shoe!

Please provide a simple color scheme
These are the only shoes I buy. I wear these to work and everywhere else. I hate your color choices. The new Lone Peak 8 are terrible in the selection. Please provide a simple black color choice. Not everyone wants vibrant colors.

Make Altra toe-bed wide again!
I loved the Altras when you made that toe-bed really wide. I am sorry that you have gone the way of other shoe manufacturers for what appears to be a "look" rather than a function. I notice that you do not offer a WIDE option for width either. Hopefully you can hear some of us who love your original idea for the health of our feet.
