If they make more wide options, maybe

Five stars 5 years ago! They have strayed from their foundation! Only offering 1 or 2 color options in 1or 2 models is a slap in the face to those of us that have supported this company since founded!

A perfect outdoors companion

This shoe delivers performance on the trails with style. The EGO foam provides a comfortable, yet supportive ride. The grip of the outsole will not have you missing Vibram. A must have in your collection.

Comfortable but falling apart

Comfortable and great for bigger feet. Holds up okay every where but the glued rubber edging around the toe of the shoe. The rubber is pulling away from the fabric around the toe area. This happened in about a month.

Lone Peak 7

I have Taylor's bunions ("little toes," i.e. bilateral, 5th metat.), so Altra Shoes immediately caught my attention when I saw the wide toe box 11 years ago. The zero drop works well with a rapid, flat, light stride. I live on the edge of town so I use Lone Pk 7s in a combination of trail and road running. I've been running for 50 years, and for the past 11 years wearing Altra shoes for everything but track work. I love Altra shoes.

DO NOT BUY these shoes. Poorly made.

I barely wore these shoes (3 times, 10 miles max all in city use) and the material is already shredding away. I contacted the company for the warranty that the guarantee and they refuse to stand by their product and replace. These are supposed to be trail running shoes and they can't stand up to gentle walks around the neighborhood. Don't waste your money on these shoes or with this company that lies about their warranty standards.

Its everything a zero drop show should be.

This is exactly what a zero drop shoe should be. No one can expect the comfort level of these shoes to be the same as all the other shoes out there that focus on big cushioned soles with a drop and tight toebox. It is made so you can feel the ground and have a better proprioception and run in a more natural way. It is not for everybody, but for those looking to go back to the roots, this is your best choice. I am not giving it 5 stars only because I am not impressed with the grip on hard wet terrain. They need to improve that traction.

I won't buy this again

My first two pairs I bought were absolutely perfect. Since then, the shoes have been elongated and narrowed slightly. I will probably look elsewhere for shoes that fit. This is not because my feet have changed shape, I have compared the old and new ones. For someone with the right shaped foot, these are excellent shoes.

Good Version Of A Classic

I have been running in the Lone Peaks since the very first edition, and I think the 7 is a good version of the shoe. For reference, the LP version I was using before I got these was the 4.5. I cannot comment on the durability yet, as I've only run in them a couple of times. The toe box does seem a bit more snug, but I don't find it uncomfortable. It's especially noticeable from top to bottom. On longer runs it might become an issue. The toebox fit is similar to the old "neoshell" version of the LP ( i don't remember if that was 2 or 2.5). I hope future versions of the shoe add a bit more room back in this area. The heel is a big improvement over previous versions of the shoe that I've owned. Very comfortable and snug, for me it fits "just right". Some od the previous versions of the shoe had the ankle collar cut too high and it would rub my ankle, causing soreness, but that is not an issue with the 7. The laces are okay, but would not be long enough if I wanted to use the extra eyelets. I prefer the little metal hook for the gaiters as opposed to using the lace, hopefully in future versions of the shoe they will go back to using the metal hook. The outsole is fine, gives good traction in dry conditions- I haven't tried them in wet conditions yet. Overall, I'm happy with the shoes so far, I subtracted a star for the laces/lack of metal hook and less roomy toebox.

Awful colors

The lone peaks have been my favorite shoes for years but the colors are awful. I guess I have to hopefully wait another year for normal colors. Please make these in a dark grey or black without flashy colors.
