    Miss Manners would approve.

When you sit with your plate in your lap, you invariably end up wearing your food—dine alfresco in absolute comfort and gentility with the ALPS Mountaineering Square Dining Table. This sturdy, lightweight aluminum table travels in its compact shoulder carry bag until you arrive at the campsite or stadium parking spot, then it sets up in an instant. Pull up your chair (no problem thanks to the rugged X-frame support that won’t get in your way) and enjoy at-home ease while others around you precariously juggle beverages and loaded plates.

    Surprisingly convenient!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I ended up getting this table on kind of a whim to check it out, turns out it's pretty great! Super light weight, and it sets up really easily and has never toppled over, even in high winds! I've used it camping at at home when I've needed extra table space. It's a great purchase!

    The end caps!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This table does not fold down to a convenient size and does not travel well. Worst of all, each slab of the table has 2 end caps that are not on very well. This item might be for you if you enjoy leaving multiple pieces of small plastic trash where you camp over the months and years.

    great table!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have a small apartment, and a small table-top grill for my patio. I purchased this table to put my grill on and it works perfectly! I also love that I will be able to use it on camping trips!

    Car Camping Necessity

I went camping with another Backcountry employee who had this table. It is great to have a metal surface to cook on (no more melted camp box lids...) I was impressed with the sturdiness compared to the table's overall weight .

I ordered one as soon as I got back from our weekend in the desert.

      A classic table

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is exactly what I was looking for, simple light table for car camping. I haven't used it long enough to say but it may break down if harshly used. But for now it works great!

      Car Camping Perk

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This table is great. It packs easily and assembles quickly. The table is sturdy, and provides a great surface for prepping food. The table is a bit high when used with camping chairs as dining table.

Does what it is designed to do

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I picked this table up to use when car camping. It packs down to a reasonable size, and is easy to transport with the provided carrying bag. The size is ideal for a couple people but, quickly gets over-run if you have a larger group. Set up is easy and it takes mere seconds to erect. My main concern is with durability. The frame seems durable enough, but the way the panels attach makes me question how it will hold up over time. The center bar that attaches between the two legs uses a cheap plastic fitting and I fear over time it will break. Concerns aside, I have enjoyed this table.

      ALPS Mountaineering Square Dining Table

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Super functional table. Light, sturdy, easy to assemble. I use mine for a flat surface to cook on as well as for a card table.

A few things to note. I've found that it is a little bit awkward to be used as a dinner table with most camp chairs because of its height. Also it is really hard to fit back in the carrying bag, so I actually abandoned the bag all together. I just roll the table up and tie it off with a rope/belt/Voile strap. This works fine.

This table is for the customer who values functionality and durability at an affordable price.

Question on the table? Hit me up!

      Middle of the road

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Pretty light for what it is. First time setting up was a snap but figuring out how to fold it back up took a couple tries. I am nervous about the cracks between the slates getting dirty and being hard to clean.

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This table is perfect for 1 or 2 people whilst outdoors! I would go bigger if you had more than that for sure. with a stove and everything else there isn't much room left over. It's super super easy to assemble and probably takes only a minute. The carry case makes it really easy to take the table with you anywhere! I would definitely recommend this table to anyone who is looking for a great camping table or really just a table needed for the outside!

      Adequate, not ideal

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Very long when folded, heavy, and unwieldy to setup. At over 36" long disassembled, it doesn't fit into my massive XXL NF Base Camp expedition duffle for flying (which fits literally everything I need for 60+ days in the bush). Not exactly what I expected but able to return due to BC's awesome return policy.

I was shipped a broken one

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I am so disappointed in Backcountry for clearly shipping me a used table. The bottom stabilizing bar is impossible to snap on -so much so that the table we were sent had one of the pieces broken off. This is clearly because the people who ordered this table before us broke it and returned it. I needed a table and now I still don't have one. Thanks Backcountry. With all of that said I will not reorder as that piece is just begging to be broken off again.

      Sturdy Table

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

When I received the table the bag it came in was a little larger then expected but it ended up storing well in the car. It’s a great weight and very quick/easy to set up. It’s a nice height to stand and cook on/to set out gear. I wouldn’t stand on it but it’s stable enough for what you would imagine a folding camping table to be. After learning how it set up, I can now get it up in around 30 seconds. The one issue I found with table I received was that the center stabilizer bar was really hard to snap into place at first, although it has started to become a easy to snap on and off after some use. Great table for the price!

      Sturdy Table

      Solid Table

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I got this as a gift for my aunt & uncle for Christmas, who have been after a good camp table, and this one was the golden ticket. Easy to pack up, easy to assemble, and folds up nice and small enough for travel. Good surface area, and easy to clean. Definitely wouldn't want to carry it for a long distance, but it's by no means the heaviest- it's perfect for car camping!

      Psych is High

I was looking for an alternative to lugging around my 6ft folding table when I purchased the Alps Mountaineering Table. I don't have as much surface area, but the light weight, packability is far more valuable for car camping and day trips. I barbecued on it , spilled beer and wine, and aluminum surface made for really easy clean up. I only worry about long term durability.

The missing link for any car camper

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The Alps square table has been the best investment for car-camping since picking up a two-burner stove. This table gives me a place to put that stove other than the ground, and before that I was basically a caveman.

This table is stable and sturdy, and packs nicely into it's own bag. Since there are only 3 pieces, it sets up and breaks down in hardly a few minutes.

My only gripe would be that I wish the top surface had been coated with something to make clean-up a little easier.

The missing link for any car camper

        Great, lightweight table

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Bought this a month or two ago, and have used it twice. It's lightweight and fairly compact in the bag, but easy to set up and sturdy. It's perfect for two or four diners, or just as an extra prep table. Only minor complaint is that it can be difficult to put back into the storage bag when you are packing it... but overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase.

What's the size of the top? Thanks
