Worst piece of junk I’ve ever bought!!

I just pulled these out of the box and not even 5 minutes later they snapped in half!! The plastic pieces are cheap. I would not recommend getting. I never even got to try them out out very disappointed. (In the picture it is the first plastic clip that broke in half instantly.)

    Not worth it.

    Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I'd give these three stars (meaning they get the job done) if you could lock or adjust the anti-shock spring. It's WAAAY too loose. After hiking with two of them for just a few miles, my hands were sore from the handle slamming into the end of the anti-shock on every step.

    Durable and light

Used a set on the AT in Pennsylvania for a forty mile section. This covered the rocky section of the NE. No collapse of the poles with heavy use and weight bearing. Great value at less than $30 for a pair.

    Depends on the user

    Familiarity:
    I've used it several times

Light weight. Appears to be durable. The locks need to be checked before each use. The anti-shock mechanism can not be turned off so some people will not like this pole when going up hill.

    Great Deal

You can not beat this price for a good hiking pole I would suggest you buy 2 but I have some members of my hiking group who like hiking with one pole in general I find Alps products to well made ...

    great deal

for the price you can't miss. I am 5' and they are comfortable for walking in town, but haven't gotten out on the trail yet. Rubber tips do not stick well on smooth surfaces, may need to be replaced. They don't feel heavy. I like the easy lock system.

    Be careful!!

The description of the item is as follows: "ALPS Mountaineering Journey Trekking Poles" This is for 1 pole not 2. I called to question the mistake and was told they would be glad to sell me another one and send it me.... What a joke.... Be careful!!

    But is it heavy?

Can it fold up for easy packing when backpacking?

Hey Lana! It is super easy, yeah! It has two of those fast-locking clamps, so it can reduce down pretty far when you are backpacking. Their size while collapsed is 68cm (about 27 inches), so they are small enough to strap to the outside of your pack. Should be perfect for getting out on the trail! Let me know if you have any other questions on them, my contact details are above!

Is this one pole or two? The description says "poles" but the photo only shows one so I just want to make sure I understand what is included.
