The laces untie a lot and that is kind of issue
From the front a bit uncomfortable and the laces aren’t secured how tight you tie it up

Nice just right, snug fit. Feels like my whole foot is enveloped. They are true to size. Midsole protects the foot and the sole has great traction on dirt, grass, and pavement. Make sure to read joeyslaptop review. Very insightful. #BackcountryGearhead

Comfortable trail running shoe
Some reviewers suggested that the midsole was hard initially. Mine wasn't. Comfy shoe with very grippy outsole.

Best trail shoe I’ve ever had
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Comfort, light weight, sturdy sole that handles rougher terrain; it’s an awesome trail/hiking shoe.

Would recommend for trail-running X-country
First off, some background: I run roads, trails, and technical terrain. I'm not a sponsored pro, but I run a lot - and have run pretty much exclusively in Adidas for about 15 years. I ran my first marathon this past July in Salt Lake in Adidas Adizero Adios II shoes, accomplished or exceeded all of my race goals, and came in 6th for my age division. I ran a few half marathons in my original Adidas Terrex Speed Ultra 240 trail-running shoes (the white and black with pink stripe on the inside). Those were my favorite running shoes ever - they fit perfect and had amazing soles, and I put about 500 miles on them total. I've been reconning around for an equivalent ever since. A month ago, I ran Mt Olympus in Utah (which has a gain of 1000 ft per mile, way technical, and is about 7 miles round trip)... in Boston 11 shoes. I completely destroyed them on that run. I tore out the sides of both shoes. So - the moral of the story is don't try to wear normal marathon or running shoes on brutal trails in the dark. The Terrex Agravic 3 Trail Running Shoes work great as everyday trail runners - and could work as budget race-day shoes for x-country runners too. I have put about 70 miles on them so far: two 14-milers, and several 6-10 milers a few times per week - so far, mostly on roads and non-technical paths. I've found them to be sturdy and light. They perform pretty well - not Adidas Adizero Adios well - but good enough to be my primary running/training shoes. Running over grass and river rocks, etc weren't a problem. They have good cushion in the heel to assist on some of those brutal downhills and saved some wear on my knees. Bonus: nothing will trash your knees worse than dehydration - don't just hydrate right before and during a run, but hydrate well the day before too. It solved about 90 percent of my bad-knee issues. Combine good cushion in the heel with good hydration, and you'll go further and more often than you otherwise would. The Terrex Agravic 3s are a little wider than the Boston 11s, which I greatly appreciate. And the material is clearly stronger in the upper to handle rougher conditions. Also, depending on the lacing style you use, they'll hold your foot in place differently. To me, this is another bonus. In other words, they're sort of a versatile fit. Two criticisms of these shoes: the ceiling in the toe box is too high for me without adding some thicker insoles to take up the gap. Otherwise even with laces tightened down until the toe box ceiling wrinkles slightly, my toes flop up and down a tiny bit in them. Also, in hot weather (like 90ºf or hotter), the soles bubbled a tiny bit (they squish barely too much and the sole sort of lumps up a little between the ball of my foot and toes). I had to adjust my toes and ball of my foot to squish it back flat while running on hot days. But in moderate or cooler weather, they seem just fine. I do wish they would make the soles perform just a tiny bit better in the heat - like make the sole material barely harder at least in the forward half. The ever so slightly softer sole seems like a trend over the last four years or so. Anyhow, the Terrex Agravic 3 Trail Running Shoes are great shoes: they seem well constructed; my laces don't come untied as often; they look cool; they have plenty of padding in the heel to help my knees on those crazy downhills; the grip on the bottom works well; and the break between the mid and outsole is at a good angle and starts at the right spot. If you're not used to buying Adidas running shoes, you may want to try half a size smaller than your more casual sneakers.
