Purchased as a gift for
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased as a gift for my husband. He loved it! He loves the fit, the hip belt pockets, and the helmet attachment since he’s a cyclist. I love the trekking pole attachment so he can carry my poles when I’m not using them. Very happy and satisfied with our purchase!

So far so good.
As you’d expect from Osprey, this pack is very well made. I’ve only used it a few times for day hikes around Devon/Dartmoor area, but if it’s anything like the Talon10 that I’ve been using for mountain biking for about a decade I’ll be a happy man. And if I have any issues at all the Osprey guarantee is second to none in my opinion.

Great features and capacity

I bought this 2 months ago and have used it on two Colorado 14er hikes and several day long hikes across traverses in Summit and Eagle Counties. It's perfect for an all day hike. It holds my 3 liter bladder and two 20 oz water bottles along with a puffy, a rain shell and miscellaneous stuff like a survival knife, bear spray, bug spray, first aid kit, gloves, hat and a few sandwiches. The hip belt pockets are nice for bars, iPhone, chapstick and small tube of sunscreen. It's comfortable to wear and rides slightly above waistline. The bladder is a bit of a challenge to get in and out but not a big deal in my opinion. Overall this is a great pack, and I would buy it again and recommend it for others who want an ideal size pack for all day trips.

Overall the Talon is a
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall the Talon is a good pack. It is comfortable, has great organization, adjustability for multiple sizes, and ergonomics are good. Biggest complaint with the pack is that it is challenge getting any water bladder in the pouch. I have tried multiple bladders including a couple of different Osprey bladders and non of them easily go into the pouch. I would recommend this pack to others looking for a durable, comfortable, and well organized day pack.

One major flaw
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Great pack except it’s super difficult, next to impossible, to stuff a full, 3 liter bladder into the external bladder pocket. If I’d have known that, I would never have purchased this pack. Osprey is aware of this problem and yet they continue selling this model without letting consumers know about the problem.

I am super familiar with the Talon Series from Osprey, because for years now, the women's version, Tempest, has been my "grab and go" for outdoor adventures. The men's Talon series hugs close to your body with it's stretch mesh harness and molded backpanel. This pack is for the user who appreciates lights weight, but still need a comfortable and capable carry. The fit is dialed and adjustable, and I often forget that I am wearing my Tempest! Lots of volumes to choose from, but each features Osprey's Talon and Tempest AirScape suspension system for outstanding carry. My brother is on his 2nd Talon, having had the Talon 11 in the past! You will love this pack!
