Stylish and Functional!

I bought these as my outer layer for cold weather mountain biking and the fit is great! There’s room for my knee pads if I need them but they didn’t feel too baggy without knee pads either. The ankle isn’t the most fitted style but I had no issues with this. My favorite surprise was the leg vents on the thighs. Even on those cold weather days, some ventilation was nice to have once I built up some body heat. The material is slick and durable and I’m excited for many more rides in these pants. Bonus points for being stylish and functional.

The old version of these pants were better. They were $70, however they were ripping at the seams less than a year of use which prompted me to try these ones. I got a pair but returned them for a few reasons. The first one is the zipper at the ankles is very floppy and you will feel it hit your ankles every step. The second is there is nothing to secure the belt so the strap is also flopping at your waist. The third is the knee area is very baggy which I understand is for knee pads as these are biking pants but the material is stretchy enough as is and many mountain bikers use riding clothes as every day clothes as well and these aren't as flattering for every day use. The fourth is these pants were very loose around my waist, my old pair was size small and fit appropriately and I got small for these as well and the fit was totally different. Cannot recommend these at all. My old pair I used extensively and these I tried to get over these seemingly small things but $120 for these? No way.

Versatile pants, very comfy

I’m a big fan of these pants. I’ve worn them mountain biking a few times, hiking, and regular day-to-day. I fell off the biking trail once and landed on some rocks and sticks, only had a couple small scratches in the fabric. I like the fit and the stretch in the material, the built-in belt is awesome, and the pockets are perfect. The only complaint I have is the little iron on embellishments came off on the first wash, even with following the instructions. Three things I think would make these even more awesome: mesh on the leg vents to keep dirt and bugs out better; at least one small cargo/lower thigh pocket for keys or a wallet; and I wish the price was more affordable because I’d definitely buy more as every day pants.

Amazing Pants

Bought these immediately prior to an 8-day bike/barge trip to Belgium/The Netherlands. They were a last-minute buy and I hesitated over the price. Not cheap. But I LOVED them! We rode in rain the first two days - the pants did a good job of repelling water. Not waterproof but I was able to avoid putting on waterproof pants for much of the rainy period. Stretchy - YES! Give in all the right places. Fit over bike shorts - YES! I wore the pants almost every day in 50 degree+ temps and just changed out my bike shorts. No binding around the waist and the ankle cuffs were a bonus. I have a big bum compared to my waist and often have trouble with pants. They either have a big gap in the waist or don't fit over my bum. The adjustable belt solved that problem. Very comfortable. I'll probably buy another pair for hiking. Not sure what to say on sizing. I usually wear a L, needed XL with these. So maybe a bit on the small size?

Odd fit but will do
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
- Size Bought:
- large

I'm 5'6", about 140 lbs, pretty standard size 6/28, athletic with a little booty. I tried the medium and the large. The medium fit best in the waist but the rear area was tight like leggings tight, especially stretched over chamois and I felt like I should try the large. The large fits the rear much better, especially given that we wear chamois underneath, but I had to cinch the waist so it looks quite cinched and a little baggy. I think I'll keep the large, they seem like they'll be comfortable for colder weather riding, but the sizing seems a little off.

Agree, great pants

The Backcountry Slickrock pants were a great buy for me. The order came quickly and the quality is there. I usually wear a size 12 so I ordered a large. They fit well. If I was a size 14 and ordered a large, I might agree that they probably run small. The only thing I didn’t like was that the Backcountry symbol on the pant was peeling off right out of unpacking. This wasn’t enough for me to return them. I can see why they are other reviewers’ favorites. I would buy them again.

At 5’9” these jogger style pants fit very well length wise. I did size up to a large to make sure there was room for a chamois and base layer pants as these are a shell and not brushed or insulated - which makes them more versatile! The large was needed to fit the hips/butt and the cinch waist helps keep them up even though the waist is a little loose at size large. 30” waist for reference. A M might work but as another reviewer stated it would likely be tight and I prefer the more relaxed look. Well constructed and looks great. Very happy with this purchase.

I bought these in a Small & Medium and both fit, with the Small being very fitted and the Medium being a bit more relaxed. I am keeping the Medium. I am 5'6, 130lbs, legs for days. The Small was maybe a bit too tight and short. I have never ordered any MTB apparel from Back Country and got these after seeing an ad. They are so cute. My sister said my butt looks good in them plus good length for tall gals, slightly feminine touches, and cool red contrasts.

Each season these pants keep getting better and I think this season they are now my favorite. I love wearing these for mountain biking. I like having a sleek black pair and I really like the green with the pop colored zippers. These are super comfortable and durable. Can’t wait for more colorways!
