Live the show, don't particularly love the durability
I love the Mt Blancs, I really do. Nothing is more comfortable for my feet for running long distances. I recently reached out to customer care, about a rip in my shoes, probably, the 4th rip for as many pairs. All have been replaced under warranty (thank you!). This last pair I reached out 04/02/24. No response except the automated message. I've switched to Topo's, which I think is a shame. I've reached out again today, as a follow up email. I'm disappointed. At least if these shoes haven't lasted, you've responded and replaced them before.

Definitely not the shoes for me
I've rarely needed to break in Altras over the past 8 years, these were just wrong for my feet/body. Immediate blister on my heel (even with heel lock lacing) and odd pains in my calves and the arch and outer aspects of my feet. Gave them a couple runs but they didn't provide any more cushioning than my Lone Peaks (actually were rather stiff). Was really hoping for that same grip but an ease on tired feet. Returned with no issues except disappointment in my search for a shoe to meet all my needs.

Perfect
Nice roomy toe box, cushion is fantastic but doesn't feel heavy. Nice and light feeling on the tread and trails. Stocking up on this design.

The heel is awful
I was so hoping these would be my go to trail shoes.. they are awful on the heel. the new design doesn't keep your heel supported laterally or medially! It's so flimsy and not sure what they did and tends to make your feet pronate.. To box is ok, but feels a bit wider than my other Altras. I wanted to really like these, but actually threw them away. I've been in altras for over 12 years and used to run barefoot. They continually change design and I'm baffled by this if the design makes the shoes worse!! I then tried to just use them to take the dog out for trail walks.. just as bad :( Please make a better trail shoe.

Speedy climber

Nice concept, excellent cushioning, execution needs work
I have worn the Time 2 for several seasons but did not like the 3 or 4 so I tried these. Oh man, I really wanted to love these shoes. I wore them for several trail runs to test them out and ultimately, the thin fabric around the ankle and on the tongue of the shoe just chewed me up. In addition, the laces and tongue are SO SHORT! It wore the skin off of the top of my foot on a 15 mile run. I was hoping to have these in my starting lineup for the racing season this year but they just didn't make the cut. The cushion, wide toe box and grip were excellent, it's just the fabric that caused my issues. :( The search continues.

Not Everything I Had Hoped
I have run in Lone Peaks for years and love them. I was looking for something with a similar fit and feel yet more cushion for coming down technical mountain trails and this shoe is not that. The soles of this shoe are great! Even in snow, ice and rock I feel like I have stable traction. Sadly, the Mont Blanc has a more narrow toe box, the tongue area is so thin that it is finicky to adjust and the fit around the heel is too minimal to be comfortable. I was hoping these would be the shoe for my next ultra...but I don't think I can tolerate them for more than 10 miles.

Most comfortable shoes I've worn!
Seriously the best shoe I've ever worn! Light weight. Super comfortable. I love this shoe. I did buy another pair but 1/2 size bigger.

Falling apart after 2.5 months
I ordered these shoes in the Deep Teal two and a half months ago. I had recently returned neon orange pair of Mont Blancs to a running store I had bought them at because after 2 runs the tops were ripping. The staff told me that Altra had recently changed manufacturers and to try another pair. So, I ordered the teal ones off here. After normal wear the color is peeling off some of the rubber and the soles are peeling off in places. There are holes in the fabric on top. For the price, they should not be falling apart like this. Unfortunately, I am out of the 30 day return window. Severely disappointed.
