Outbound Cargo Bag
The Thule Outbound Cargo Bag packs a full load of gear for when you're driving far away and space is a concern. The test-proven, weather-resistant fabric protects your gear from anything you might come across on the road, and PVC-free means the bag is environmentally friendly. Compression straps cinch your cargo securely in order to reduce friction and noise against your car, and heavy-duty, double-stitched webbing straps attach the bag to the car durably and securely so you don't have to worry about whether you'll be seeing your gear or not when you reach your destination. The three-sided zipper makes it easy to pack this bag, and a heavy-duty storm flap over the zipper helps keep water out of the bag. This bag attaches to most factory racks, and it folds down for a compact storage when you don't need it.

Great roof top bag
We just used this bag on an 5 hour drive to a weekend trip. We comfortably put 4 weekend bags plus some shoes and misc items in the bag with plenty of extra room. The bag tied down easily and felt very secure with only front and rear straps. The bag move slightly side to side but did not disrupt driving at all. I had to secure the excess straps to reduce noise but again no big deal. It poured rain and high winds for approx 4 of the 5 hours and our gear was completely dry. Great bag, good quality, happy I made the purchase.

Good product
On our first trip using the carrier we experienced heavy rains and wind and were concerned about the items in the Thule. But everything was completely dry so we've been very happy with it.

Great fit for our van
Bought this a few weeks ago and used on a 7 hour trip from AZ to CA and back. Worked perfectly with our Thule crossbars. Went through Sun, rain, and snow, and everything kept pretty dry. Only complaint is the plastic liner on the inside got pretty ripped up already, I think from a combination of being in cold temperatures and stuff maybe sliding around within the bag but not really sure.

Survived a rainstorm!
Bought the Thule Outbound top carrier for a 500+ mile road trip to the Outer Banks. Chose this over a hard top carrier because of the price. Was a little weary before I bought it due to the comments but gave it a try since it was reasonably priced. Thought I didn't have to worry about the comments regarding water leaking into the bag because I was headed to the beach, but I was wrong. It poured the whole trip down! I was praying all of my stuff was dry. Luckily enough, everything I had was dry and the set up and take down was super easy. If you are looking for a roof rack carrier without spending a fortune, get this.

Worked really well
Used the roof top storage for bulky soft gear - sleeping bags, sleeping mats, and beach towels. Freed up a lot of space in the truck bed, and was a great on the camper shell. I Have a Thule roof rack for bikes and the cross bars were great to secure the roof top bag. Was even able to get two bike racks on either side of the bag. The straps for the bag were good. Followed all the instructions and the product Ed worked really well.

Got the job done.
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Initially purchased this roof bag in 2015, and have used it several times. We've used it camping, taking it on some rugged roads where it stays put. We have driven through snow storms and rain storms, and everything inside stays dry. We have even taken it through the car wash (not recommended) but it survived and kept everything dry! It is flexible and HUGE. We can fit both of our suitcases, backpacking backpacks and more inside. I am Purchasing a new one as a gift for my husband so we can each have one.

Zippers only lasted about 5 trips.
You're likely going to need additional straps. The zippers broke after only a few uses.

Spacious but Leaky
We needed extra space for our family of 6, and this product looked promising. It certainly has a TON of space, and it freed up our trunk space considerably. I bought it hoping that the half of the reviews where it "kept the contents dry" were right. Unfortunately, I found the "wet" reviews were more accurate. One our very first trip - 10 hours, Dallas to Dauphin Island, AL - we drove through a 1 hour rainstorm. Upon arrival, the bottom was soaked about 3/4 from front to back (see attached picture). I had read the "wet" reviews and thus put all the bags in trash bags, just to be safe, and some of the contents STILL got wet. We took 1 more 10+ hour trip this summer, and the same thing happened. It's an attractive and sturdy bag, with strong tie-downs and zippers/pulls, and it stays anchored on the roof well. However, Thule needs to re-design the bottom with waterPROOF materials. I returned this product and bought a Thule roof box, which should be waterproof.
