Explore Fusebox 26L Bag

The North Face Explore Fusebox 26L Daypack certainly looks the part when it's hanging from a tree at camp, but TNF actually designed it for everyday life and commuting across town. It features the same burly Base Camp fabrication as most of The North Face's trekking and climbing packs, so feel free to take it on weekenders as well as work on the weekday. There's a sleeve inside the spacious main compartment for a laptop, and the top lid has a mesh pocket for keys, wallet, phone, and more.

Very handy and reliable

I am going out of state once a week and I use the North Face Fusebox. It is light, and I can fit all my things here without any problem. I can store my laptop, my clothes, my chargers, and especially my tumbler. This was a nice purchase for me.

It's awesome

For climbing gear. Solid, functional, great at containing all my gear and its smells.

Good bag

My son loves this bag, I have one for my preschooler and my middle schooler - the only thing with my middles schoolers large bag is it's not a lot of space for books but it is a literal rectangle so it was expected.

I certainly would buy this again. Nobody e

Good size, durable, comfortable, nice handle on top. Keeps its shape and does not flop over. I would like to see some padding in the sides and bottom because I sometimes carry camera gear. But its multi-purpose and makes a great carryon bag for travel.

Great backpack

Really nice material, feels very comfortable, good space for a carry on backpack, doesn't weight much, I've tried if it was waterproof, just in a small rain but works really great literally the drops just slide down

Good solid design, could use a few mods, but no complaints.

I like this bag a lot. This 26L bag replaced a twenty-year-old 23-liter TUMI clamshell laptop backpack with many compartments. After years of the TUMI, which was very organiz-able via 6+ compartments and innumerable pockets, I decided to try something with less organization and structure, using packing cubes and the like to substitute for more structured compartments and pockets. It's worked well for that and lightened my load - the bag including the packing cubes is lighter than my old TUMI - and it fits larger objects as well at need, bc the main compartment is capacious. The laptop compartment readily fits a 16" Mac laptop and a 12.9" iPad. The compartment in the flip-top is useful for quickly accessible items - pens, mints, files, keys, et cetera. The side compartment carries tickets and other small flattish objects, and a small water bottle will fit in there. The main compartment is enormous and bc it's rectilinear, it fits a water bottle, medical kit cube, power/charger/battery cube, stationary cube, kindle, etc. The outside sewn on straps are good for stuff that can be strapped or carabinered to them - external water bottle pouches, pick boxes, etc. The straps are sturdy and have a chest strap, so it's comfortable when packed heavy. The fabric is reasonably waterproof, though the zippers aren't protected and water can get in. It's not perfect. The things I'd like to see added: - key lanyard either in the top pocket or right inside the main compartment - mesh water bottle pockets on the side, 8+" deep - slightly larger zipper pulls so I can thread a small lock through them if needed. - an option for a waist strap; when the bag is heavy, it'd be a nice way to distribute load. - a longer flap over the main compartment zipper to keep water out - I might add this myself, using rubberized fabric. - maybe an external zipper to allow access to the laptop compartment without opening the full bag.
