Play in the spray.
Fall might mean the end of the kayaking season for most but there's still some whitewater left for you to play in, and the Stohlquist Men's FreePlay Dry Top lets you do it comfortably even in the most extreme cold. Its Twin Sensor shell places a waterproof barrier between you and the cold water with four layers of nylon fabrics, DWR treatments, and two separate membranes. While the exterior, microporous membrane prevents water from passing through, the interior, hydrophilic laminate absorbs your body's moisture and transports it away from your skin in order to increase the top's breathability. Stohlquist also added Duraseal latex wrist gaskets, which are a lot softer than conventional latex gaskets, while the neoprene collar helps seal out the wetness with extraordinary breathability and the mesh drainage dumps out any water after epic tweeter-fests.
Stohlquist gave its FreePlay a roomy athletic fit for full mobility that you appreciate during your paddling sessions, and hook-and-loop tabs at the waist and wrists let you customize the top for your ideal fit. Its Gripp-Loc skirt tunnel accommodates your spray skirt without any openings. Double and triple sewn seams keep the top durable for a long time, and reflective accents help keep you visible to your friends if you get lost in the water.

- Q & A
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I've used it now 3 years--its ultra dry, even on long days. No leaks on gaskets and seals after heavy use. I store mine inside hanging up, so it is taken care of, however, its beaten up on the river. Highly recommended! Fit is great, gaskets aren't too tight or loose.
Good product. Only ok quality.
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
New to kayaking and bought this Jacket cause it looked decent and was fairly cheap. After trying it on for the first time while taking it off the outer neoprene area ripped away from the jacket lining. The next day after trying it on I took it out on the water because it was the only top I had and didn't compromise me staying dry since it was the outer layer neoprene that ripped. Upon contacting stohlquist directly to get it warrantied they told me they couldn't since it was "used".... Once....
Besides that issue, whilst running the river it was awesome and kept my torso dry, however I'll be trying out a new drytop of a different brand and depending on how that goes will not be very happy with this.
Dry as Death Valley

I'm 5'7" 175 lbs and have a Large FreePlay. The jacket is dry as can be and stays cool. I roll a lot (sometimes on purpose and sometimes not expecting to roll) and have yet to have a drop of water in. The neck and wrist gaskets are a nice balance between being tight enough to seal out the water without being soo tight that I feel like I'm getting strangled. The spray skirt tunnel tucks in perfect and creates a bomber seal. Plenty of room in it for free movement or adding insulation layers. Couldn't be happier with it.
