Best bargain map case
Quality map case for canoeing with no major issues, but printed maps can leave residual ink on the inside of the map case if left out on a hot day.

Large map case for Colorado adventure race
Used this map case for a 6 hr adventure race in Colorado and it was perfect. I purchased the large size and it poured cats and dogs our last hour of the race but our map stayed dry as a bone. Would recommend!

Great small size for maps
I have been looking for a small map case that will not take up lots of space. This is a great size and has the advantage of fitting great into a pocket and small bag.

Ultimate Protection for Documents from Weather.
After trying this product in my leisure time, I was inspired to apply it in my line of work. I acquired 15 -20 of the small units to store safe-work permits during maintenance outages / turnarounds. Each outage lasts at least 2 weeks, so since they were purchased 5 years ago, they've all seen at least 4 full months of full exposure to environmental elements and the rough handling by the dirty brutes (jk, no...srsly) performing the work. The cases are generally fastened to one location for the duration of the outage, meanwhile, the case is opened several times a day, often bulging from the additional paperwork. Unless someone forgets to close the case, documents always stay dry. Everyone likes them so much, they use the cases throughout the year.

Versatile map case meets snowmobile needs too
I zip tied the medium size map case to my snowmobile luggage and used it daily on a month long snowmobile trip. It suited my needs perfectly. I did make sure that I insert my map for the day while I was indoors - preventing any flexibility issues with the zip-lock seal. I would purchase this product again.

Seal line: map cases that do not live up to our name
Seal line. This line of product does not seal. . .Had the map case and used it for one season of hiking. Special ordered it online and had it shipped to Australia. Not abusive use or anything. When not in use, I tuck it to the side of my ribs wedged between the backpack strap and my body, pulled it out to read it a few times a day. About everyday or so I open the case to change the map orientation/page etc (fairly carefully and not forcefully or anything) A small rip started to develop at the edges of the closure seal (on the weld line) about 15 days in. Eventually out of the blue, the welded line about 2-inches long separated and came apart (on the left side about 3/4 of the way). My only assessment is that the welds created a weak spot on the case. I could understand how the weld line would separate near the closure seal but at 3/4 of the way where there's no usage/repetition stresses. . .come on! Even so, I'd expect the weld line at the edges of the closure seal to last for more than a half-season of use. The D-rings were useful but that's about the only good thing about this thing. Will be going to a different manufacturer. Save your money. I'd avoid at all cost.

Great but not waterproof in the strict sense
I have used mine on dozens of week long whitewater rafting trips, including 78 days on 4 Grand Canyon trips. It holds the map very securely but it did take on water. Not s big deal really, although it would be nice. The d rings have held up through 2 flips in the Grand including Lava. Security is more important than water resistance so I give this a decent rating. The seal is basically a beefy zip lock so it is easy to use. Considering how many times I pull the map out to switch pages it works well. Well enough that I am buying a second one because of sand scratching the plastic making it cloudy after over 300 river days. It does the job.

durable over several years
I have used the small map case for years--for a number of different applications. I initially used the case in the Boundary Waters to protect my maps. Subsequently, because of the visibility of the contents, I used the case to store my ""shaving kit"" and meds for air travel-- it is easy to get out and see what's in it when asked by TSA or if I'm just using it personally by the sink in a hotel. Subsequently, I used it to protect my cell phone and keys while I'm swimming laps. (I'm a physician and on-call a bunch, so having a water tight case to protect my cell phone at the head wall of the lap lane is useful so I do not have to get out of the pool periodically to check for calls and messages. The plastic is durable. I just got the first tear in the material after 5-6 years. The reason I'm on the website is to order a couple more.

Ripped early in the trip
It was only halfway through our trip down the grand canyon when this map case ripped on me. At least the map was made of waterproof materials but had to get out the other information that I store there as well. Very disappointing performance. I did like the design and ability to tie down on different corners thought so it gets one extra star for that.
