The Megatower Carbon CC X01 Eagle AXS Air Reserve Mountain Bike is one of the most impressive machines from Santa Cruz because it descends like an enduro bike yet climbs like an all-mountain steed. 165mm of VPP rear travel encourages us to dig in our heels and let off the brakes in steep and rowdy terrain, providing plenty of confidence for enduro race stages. The beauty of VPP is that it stands up in its travel while navigating flat or uphill trails, making for an impressively efficient pedaling feel. The 77.5-degree seat tube angle (low position, size large) is also partially responsible for this efficiency, while the 63.5-degree head tube angle (low position) provides tons of stability for holding lines in treacherous scenarios. The Megatower rolls on 29in wheels to help the bike get up and over puzzling root and rock sections, plus they help hold speed through the flats.

This Megatower build is decked to the nines, starting off with the CC carbon frame construction from Santa Cruz which is their lightest and stiffest layup available. SRAM's X01 Eagle AXS drivetrain components take care of shifting duties, providing instant electronic shifting that makes last-minute gear changes quicker than ever. The Fox Factory 38 GRIP2 fork up front delivers 170mm of travel for the most demanding trail features, and the Fox Factory Float X2 shock supplies a wide range of adjustments for fine-tuning on race day.
