Perfect backup mitt

Warm, packable, reliable. Bought oversized to fit over thicker liner gloves as part of a layering system for winter mountaineering

Not practical

Way too large and clunky. Grip is very slippery. Do not see them as serious or durable.

Comfy, Warm

They are great for a quick walk outside. They are warm. Don’t recommend for using where they could get wet.

There is a reason they are called an oven mitt - they are huge!

I picked up a pair for my husband for a fall hiking trip to the mountains (and ended up not using them then since there was an Indian Summer week up there) so they were kept back until real cold kicked in. My spouse lost a good amount of weight this year and that included quite a bit of body fat - so he gets cold easily now. Hence, the gloves. Admittedly, they are enormously big - so big they fit over a full pair of gloves over your hands. He didn't mind the color, only that they kept his hands warm while we were out day hiking in 40* temps. We've now taken them out a few times and they are still holding up on the palms, where the recycled 10d nylon is still holding up - but I would hesitate using them more than a few hours at a time or at camp after a day's hike. When I used them earlier this week during a rare snowstorm in our area, they did fine until the snow got wet and I put them away so they wouldn't get soaked. If we lived where the snow was dry, I'd consider getting them again (or a different pair with gore-tex for sturdier use) but for the rare cold day hike, they are just fine keeping the fingers warm while hiking during the day or afterward while trying to warm back up.

Great in theory, flimsy in practice.

I purchased my pair of mitts about six months ago, and am sorry to report they began falling apart after two uses in the outdoors. They are quite warm and comfortable, but unfortunately the black interior synthetic grip material is low quality, and began to fray and break apart after mere hours of use and light contact with some trekking poles.

Bomber mitt

Very light and packable. Perfect back up mitt that you won't even realize you're carrying. Virtually no weight or bulk penalty. They are HUGE though. If you want to fit liner gloves under them go one size down from your normal size. If you want a snug fit go two sizes down. I'm a medium in every glove I've ever bought and a small is very large.

MOST COMFORTABLE MITTENS EVER!

These are the best mittens EVER for comfort and warmth. My fingers get cold in every pair of gloves I've tried so I need mittens but often mittens are so unfriendly for picking things up or holding on to things. These are very flexible and adaptable. The down side of these mittens (no pun intended)....they are huge! I ordered a small and they could fit two of my hands in one mitten. My 6 FT, 200 lbs. partner fits into them perfectly. I wish I had noticed how huge they were before throwing away the tags otherwise I would have exchanged them but I suspect even the XS would be too big. Also, they are very white and bright which will be fine in the snow but out on the hiking trail they stand out like a "sore thumb". (again, no pun intended)
