Good for pear-shaped bodies

- I've used it several times

Love this jacket. I usually wear sz 6 for tops and sz 8 for bottoms, so it’s hard to find long jacket that fits my body, but this one does, very happy with the purchase.

Terrible Zipper
I had to exchange my first Alpine Down Parka within the first 60 days. I didn't wear the replacement one much until this winter. Now, the zipper has failed again and it is too late to return it. I teach and have to do outside duty everyday so I'm not even using it hard. I have been a Mountain Hardwear customer for over 20 years and have come to expect a certain quality. My first poly liner that I bought around 1996 just had the underarm zipper break this fall. The tent is still in use. This jacket could have been made by any other "high end" outdoor clothing company and is not of the same quality I have grown to expect from Mountain Hardwear.

Not warm, tight in shoulders
I stepped outside to test this in 45 degree windy weather and I was not warm at all. It seems it would work better as a base layer underneath a warmer coat, but that is not what I am looking for. It was also tight in the chest and shoulders but fit comfortably in the hips, and I am curvy so that was surprising - it's usually the other way around for me.

A surprising purchase!
I went to return my Columbia that looked very similar to this jacket so I tried it on and fell in love!! It is a slender fit but very breathable. I feel comfortable driving in it (huge plus), it keeps me very warm, and I think it’s absolutely adorable and flattering. So happy I stumbled upon this jacket!
