    No more turning around.

If you and your XC-leaning trail bike enjoy testing the limits of your 125mm suspension, you know the right tire can go a long way. When you notice that yours are looking more than a little worn this season, replace them with the Maxxis Rekon EXO/TR Tire and get back out on the trails. If you aren't racing, you likely won't miss the higher TPI and thus lower rolling resistance of the pricier Rekon 3C. The Rekon EXO/TR's step-down in price will leave plenty left over in your upgrade fund, without translating to a significant compromise in ride quality for most.

As you push your earnest frame onto downhill-only trails behind your hooting and hollering herd of enduro-loving pals, the Rekon's generous center knobs will grip reassuringly when you throw the brake levers heading into a nasty rock garden. Once you clear it, the L-shaped side knobs will help you make up time and catch up to the group as you rail around tacky berms. Maxxis' capable EXO protection also makes an appearance in the Rekon, protecting you from ride-slowing flats and giving you license to take your bike anywhere that looks enticing.

    • Show off what a low-travel bike can handle with this tire
    • Designed for sending technical, aggressive trails
    • Wide center knobs provide braking confidence and grip
    • L-shaped side knobs lend stability while cornering
    • EXO Protection guards against flats and punctures

Not sure what the person below experienced with the one star review. The Rekon 2.6 on the rear of my Devinci Troy rolls fast, has reasonable grip, and loses grip in a very playful, predictable manner. Pretty light for it's size. The extra volume allows for a nice margin of error with poor line choices. No durability issues thus far. It's seen everything from mellow trails to the bike park in both dusty and wet conditions. Doesn't brake as well as a HRII or DHRII... but it rolls much better. Want a light tire that rolls fast and is the widest you can throw on a non-plus bike? This is it. More excited for the downhill and care less about weight? Get a DHF/DHR/HRII.

After being excited about new tires on a new bike this is not what I expected. If you are looking for something even somewhat durable don't look here. Thin sidewalls and minimal protection mean countless trail issues both down and uphill. I had this tire come on the rear of my Pivot 5.5 and blew this up 5 times on one ride (running proper PSI on a smooth trail). If you are looking for something burlier and reliable check out the Minion series by Maxxis or the Nobby Nic by schwalbe for great traction (apex edition) for increased protection.
