    Your favorite tire grows up.

The only thing nagging at you since you upgraded to your shiny new plus-sized frame has been what to do with your beloved stable of Maxxis tires. Tire loyalty is a real thing, but fortunately, your favorite brand already knows that. Grab the Minion DHF 3C/EXO/TR 27.5 Plus Tire and wrap it around your rims ASAP then get back out on the trails. Whether you're sending big, burly lines on your favorite singletrack or devouring real pow fat bike-style on winter trails, the Minion DHF brings the plus-sized plushness and stability you've come to expect from your new frame, along with the same confidence-inspiring grip you've always loved about it.

As usual, the Minion's tall, square topography was created specifically for use up-front. Charge it with barreling through loose, unpredictable terrain and it'll greedily answer your calls every time. Maxxis lightens up the design by using its versatile 3C Maxx Terra compound for the tire's construction; with three different compounds, you gain grip and precision on corners, without entirely sacrificing low rolling resistance when you want to open it up on a straightaway. For protection on harsh, rocky lines, Maxxis' EXO protection acts as the Minion's invisible armor. This thin casing on the tire's interior beefs up the sidewalls without weighing you down, and as if that weren't enough, 120 TPI smooths out and lightens up your ride too.

    • Crush slickrock and snow on this classic front-specific tire
    • New plus size adds plushness and stability to your ride
    • Triple-compound rubber blends grip and low rolling resistance
    • 120 TPI reduces weight and smooths out your ride
    • Square, tall knobs dig in hungrily on loose, technical lines

    AWESOME!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These 27.5 plus tires rip! These tires climb well, for a Plus, stick to anything on the DH. The front, rear compliment each other perfect.

    Best Tire I've ever own!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This tire hook up like glue on turns! For the size and weight, very low rolling resistance and feels 100 grams lighter than the claimed weight.
I have used many different tires for over 10 years and I finally listen to other user reviews regarding maxxis brand. This is my 1st maxxis tire and I'm sold with at least the Minnion DHF 2.8 plus using as front tire. I've only used it for a few rides (only wet/muddy/snow+ice only so far) but i can see the difference between this tire and the stock tire my bike came with.

    GRIP

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

want some grip? These DHFs are the way to go. Love the Stickyness of the 3c. Decent longevity when I ran it for my front. Not sure if I would go 3c if I were running it on the rear and was worried about longevity.

    DHF

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The DHF is my favorite tire to run, it does not roll very quickly but it has so much traction. I have this on my hightower currently, and its a great tire for that bike.

    Grippy but Heavy

Grabbed these for Moab. I wouldn't run them normally in the Wasatch for all around trail riding since they are pretty heavy, but if you need that extra grip and don't mind the weight these are awesome.

      Front traction monster

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Super happy with the Maxxis Minion 2.8" front tire width. Awesome traction when paired with a 35mm or wider inner rim width. Slays it in loose Colorado decomposed granite loose rocks and kitty litter conditions.

      Monster truck tire

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Loved my DHF on my 29 inch bike, and now that i've switched to a plus set up I'm running this tire up front with a Rekon 2.8 in the back. This tire will give you traction for days, especially when conditions are dusty and blown out. In a somewhat pleasant surprise, these tires also work really well in muddy conditions as the plus volume will help it float while the widely spaced knobs allow it to shed mud amazingly well.
