We zip up the Reactor 2.0 Fleece Jacket to keep cozy on crisp fall days. The lightweight, breathable material provides us with just enough warmth for chilly treks, while the flat-lock seam construction gives us chafe-free movement. We slip our paws into the handwarmer pockets to protect them from the summit's chapping winds. All the while, our keys are secure in the zippered chest pocket, so we're not desperately searching for them once back at the trailhead.

Weird jacket, poor design evolution
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Bought this because I have the older version and really like it as my everyday winter fleece. However, REALLY not a fan of whatever redesign process this thing went through. Here are some of the issues: 1) The original was fairly fitted, which was nice as an everyday jacket. This thing is a poncho... I'm 6' tall, 180lbs, and I bought a large, and the collar is 3 sizes too big. I'm assuming this is by design, because the whole thing just feels MASSIVE. 2) There is some kind of powder skirt sewn onto the bottom of this jacket... you can see it in the photos, but it's not entirely evident until you put it on. In the photos see that 3" of fabric at the bottom? Yeah, that goes all the way around, and is basically just "bolted' on to the bottom of what is otherwise a waist level jacket... meaning it acts as a kind of power skirt, but it's a light fleece, so who needs a skirt? For wind?!? 3) Worst of all, the pockets dont go INTO that powder skirt fabric... meaning if you look at where the pockets are they have ZERO depth. It's crazy... I put my hands in the pockets and it's like a woman's jeans... the pockets are almost decorative. There's barely enough room for your hands, and I guarantee you anything you put in those pockets will fall out with the zippers open (because the bottom of the zipper is even with the bottom of the pocket. This fleece is just a travesty... it's like something you'd buy at Eddie Bauer on sale, not a piece of technical clothing from one of what was the premier brands in mountain gear. Blech.

Very versatile fleece for all kinds of conditions
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm on my second Marmot Reactor fleece. My first Reactor jacket saw me all over the world before I finally retired it when holes finally worked through the elbows. The second one has been holding up well with the minor exception that the elastic band at the left arm hand hole is separating. Not a huge deal but surprising. The Reactor's zip up makes it super easy to take on, take off, and half zip for additional ventilation in cool conditions. Great jacket for the airplane as well as a good underlayer for colder climates (<60 degrees Fahrenheit). This is my go to outerlayer for temperatures from 55 degrees F to 70 degrees F.

Beautiful Functional Fleece
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the relatively thin fleece since many are bulky and don't keep you as warm as Polartec. I also loved the vibrant/richness of the particular navy die they used.

Nice mid weigh fleece
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Heavier than the rocklin fleece and lighter weigh than the wrangel and torla , this is a nice quality mid weigh fleece. Very soft velour that feels like velvet. I bought it for my husband for Father’s Day ( ok it should have been from the kids - ha!). He likes it a lot, and I think it will get much use this fall. Marmot staff can you please make this jacket for women, too?

Reactor 2.0
Nice fleece. Very lightweight. The only downside I see is that it was advertised as medium weight and I would classify it as llighter. It is great for fall.

Disappointing, not warm, not cozy, looks cheap
Not warm, not fleece—instead the exterior is thin “velvet,” —could not tell from photo—disappointing, because I was trying to replace the Marmot jacket—metal zipper pull broke— I always loved. This also looks cheap.Marmot quality has substantially deteriorated.
