Why We Like The Klymit Traverse Shelter Hammock
Sleeping in the air is often more comfortable than sleeping on the ground, which is why we like the Klymit Traverse Shelter Hammock for our siestas and relaxing weekends. Instead of the traditional 3-panel design, this is a single-panel hammock that sleeps comfortably and resists stretching and sagging. The Traverse includes two 11-foot tree straps and two aluminum carabiners for easy setup and pairs perfectly with the Traverse Bug Net (sold separately) for a solid outdoor sleep system.

Nice canopy
You will find lots of good things with this tarp. Have had it several years now with now issues. Nice and light for its size. I have never had issues with it letting water through. Built in tension system and pegs make it really easy to set up. Design is optimized for hammocks which is nice coverage and good air flow. Would be nice to see it squared off more for general use and repacking. I don’t feel that would take away from air flow much. My only real issue is the stuff sack. Great for advertised pack size but if it is even a little damp you’re not fitting it back in. I would like to see this bag oversized for field use.

Really versatile shelter!
I love this thing. Originally purchased as a hammock shelter but I've ended up using it for far more than that. When paired with a couple of extendable poles and a handful of guy wires this thing rocks! I've used it multiple times as a car camping dining fly over a picnic table with the poles and guyed out to trees. Creates a really high, open shelter that I really like. Set up over a hammock is straight forward. Also works as additional shelter over an UL backpacking tent in nasty weather. Good size, providing lots of coverage. My only criticism is that the stuff sack is a bit tight to get everything back into - i've just moved to using a slightly larger one.

Perfect tarp for hammock camping.
Tarp shape provides just enough coverage without adding weight.

Excellent shelter.
The traverse shelter was just the right size. It’s made well and I expect it will last me a good while.

Vestibule
This is a large well seemed shelter, we use it as a vestibule/raincover for two adults and two children. it can be stuffed into its sack but actually packs much better when folded like a tarp and rolled. If you are going for low weight and measuring grams, this would be nice with a hammock, but might be to much it is large. Again perfect for our use as the Tarptent's (made in USA through hiker ultralight tents, check them out) vestibule and shelter for those rainy days in woods.

Traverse shelter
The tarp it self is easily a 5 star. It works exactly how you would want it to. It is easy to set up, adaptable and light-weight. All of my complaints reside in the stuff sack. Perhaps I am just an amateur and impatient but I found it extremely difficult and time consuming pack up the tarp into the stuff sack. No matter how difficult it is on a living room floor, its more difficult on the Forrest floor. Many other stuff sacks also have a small handle on the bottom of the sack to make it easier to unpack items. This sack has no such handle and therefore makes it a more complicated task to get the tarp out of the sack. These are mostly problems that might become easier to deal with as I gain competence and experience and over all, I am extremely happy with my purchase. The tarp itself is top quality.

Kept Me Dry
I recently camped at Westport and Lake Quinault, WA with my new Traverse Shelter. It kept my tent completely dry under heavy drizzle at the beach, making for easy pack up before heading to Lake Quinault. The first storm in 3 months hit at 2am on the morning I planned to leave, dropping over 3" of rain in 24 hours. The Traverse kept me snug and dry all night, preventing my tent from leaking anywhere. It was easy to set up and a good investment for camping in wet conditions. My only suggestion would be to make the bag it comes in slightly larger.

Best rain fly yet
I got to use this for the first time during heavy rain in Washington State. Kept me completely dry. High quality materials and quite a bit larger than other rain flys I’ve used before. I’ve tinkered a lot with my hammock set ups over the years, but this combined with the Traverse hammock is now my go-to.

This is a great accessory
This is a great accessory to have for your hammock, whether it is for camping or relaxing somewhere without shade/ cover. It is extremely easy to set up and use. Provides excellent protection from the wind, rain, and the other elements you face. It is lightweight, and packable, so it is great to use for backpacking, or like me, kayaking. Highly recommend.
