Army Leather Heli GTX + Gore Grip Glove

When you're headed out into blisteringly-cold, blizzard-like conditions, make sure your hands are outfitted with the Hestra Army Leather Heli GTX + Gore Grip Glove. Windproof, waterproof, and highly breathable, these gauntlet-style gloves feature a Gore-Tex Grip membrane that not only provides impenetrable protection against winter's worst, but also nimble dexterity for gripping poles or zippers thanks to its tightly-bonded construction.

The glove's inner face features Gore's Wicking Pique layer, which works to pull sweat from your skin and trap precious body heat, ensuring your hands stay wrapped in toasty, dry comfort from first chair to last. Its gauntlet design, with an adjustable elasticized wrist, keeps snow out when it's waist-deep at the resort, and goatskin leather construction blends ideal comfort with tough durability.

  • Warmth, dexterity, and tough protection for cold, snowy days
  • Gore-Tex provides windproof, waterproof, and breathable protection
  • Waterproof goatskin palm and fingers are supple, yet tough
  • Gauntlet length keeps snow out and adjusts easily

Missing liner!

The shell is good, but my gloves came without the liner and Backcountry doesn't carry the liner! And on the Hestra website it is out of stock. Really disappointing to buy gloves an not be able to use them.

>Rating: 5

Note: liners are sold separately.

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

To address the negative comments in "NOT WARM AT ALL....", see the following description at Hestra's web site: "Can be combined with several of our removable liners. Sold without liners."" Backcountry should consider updating its description to better align with the product delivered. I just got them. These gloves are of the usual Hestra quality but I haven't used them yet....just wanted to clarify the liner matter.

NOT WARM AT ALL, but keep me dry

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Very misleading marketing description unless I just got a defective pair, you definitely need liners with these gloves - they are not warm in the slightest, they are really just shells with maybe 1mm of insulation beyond the outer shell. I'd have bought a larger size had I known they would be so abysmally cold. I am disappointed, but used the waterproofing right after receipt and will deal with it with liners given that they're not returnable. Go with the cheaper hestra gloves if you want better warmth, these are positively not worth the price. I also have the regular mittens and an old pair of crab-style hestras which have vastly thicker insulation, the latter is 5 years old and received some warranty repair this season and is still much warmer than these which are almost 50% more expensive. This pair is USELESS for snowmobiling without liners, and ok for heliskiing with additional insulation; they do have decent dexterity but should given that they're so thin. :(
